I don't know what was going on today, but 2 hours for some soggy burgers and hilariously bad drinks was not worth it.
After sitting for about 15 minutes they came by to take our drink order. They were advertising frozen margaritas, my wife ordered one, they asked her what liquor she wanted. Not what type of tequila, what liquor. Then asked her if she wanted the Pina colada or the strawberry daiquiri mix. What do they think a margarita is? So she asked for the margarita to be on the rocks. They served her a shot of tequila, no mixer.
Then it was about another 30 minutes before they took our order, apologized for the wait and comped an appetizer. Ok good on our server. About 15 minutes the app came out, we expected our lunch soon after. About 30 minutes later our waitress came by again to apologize for the wait and informed us they finally are dropping our food on the grill. Where they waiting on each order to be completed before dropping the next?
Finally got the food. Burger tasted great but for the absolute swamp that soaked the bottom bun. It was like the lettuce was stored in a pot of water and slopped on the bun. Both burgers completely disintegrated once picked up. Credit given for the chicken tenders being great, the Philly cheese steak was great, whatever bread they used for that was wonderful.
Could see other diners getting impatient. I'm not sure what went wrong today but it was not worth the wait. Server was pleasant but the kitchen...
Read moreWe were looking for a place to go to for Cinco de Mayo. This diner is located in downtown Las Cruces. We have never been here before, but had heard the food was excellent so we decided to take a chance. We originally came in just for two margaritas to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, but soon looked at the menu and ordered the Sugie’s hamburger and the marbled Ruben. I get a Reuben whenever it’s offered when we’re traveling or here at home so I had to try to it and it was amazing! In fact, it’s the best Reuben I’ve had in Las Cruces! My husband had the burger he said the chili was hot and tasty, and the onion rings were battered lightly, which made it very delicious. He will not go wrong eating in this gem of a diner. Tiffany was awesome as our bartender and Gabby took care of us like we were royalty. We will definitely be back not just for the food and service but because there are five huge flatscreen TVs so we will definitely be here for football! Thx everyone for our new hangout and great...
Read moreMy favorite lunch spot! Been going here for a while and I always spend more money here than I should. Soups are made fresh daily and the sandwiches are made to order. They use amazing quality deli meat (Boar's Head, of course). My favorite is the Turkey Bacon Avocado, toasted and with provolone cheese. They pack on the meat and veggies, there's no 'sprinkling' of anything (looking at you, Subway). At Sugie's, you get your money's worth and then some. Staff is always super friendly. It can get slow when they're busy (usually only 2 staff on hand), but if you call ahead, they'll have it ready for you when...
