La Nueva Casita Cafe! Stepping back into this Las Cruces landmark restaurant was like taking a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Back in the 80s, when I was a college student, this place was a haven for delicious, authentic Mexican food. Decades later, I'm happy to report that absolutely nothing has changed – well, except maybe a few more grey hairs on my head!
The portions are still incredibly generous, enough to satisfy the heartiest of appetites (perfect for those long study sessions!). More importantly, the quality of the food remains absolutely top-notch. Every bite bursts with fresh flavors, from the perfectly seasoned salsas to the savory fillings in their enchiladas. It's clear La Nueva Casita uses only the freshest ingredients, a dedication to quality that truly shines through.
But La Nueva Casita isn't just about the food (though that's certainly a star of the show). What truly sets this place apart is the atmosphere. The owners and staff treat you like family, with genuine warmth and friendly smiles. There's a real sense of community here, a place where everyone feels welcome.
If you're looking for an authentic taste of New Mexico, with fantastic food, friendly service, and a welcoming vibe, then look no further than La Nueva Casita Cafe. Among the best places to enjoy Southern New Mexican cuisine. You won't be...
Read moreI had not been at this place for over 15 years. My honey and I took my dad to his favorite place. Dad bragged about the good food and friendly staff. He was right. Nueva Casita cafe sits in a historic district of Las Cruces, right across from Klein park. This great place is not ar from the court house, library and the downtown mall. I suggest you take a short walk when in these areas to grab a bite to eat here. Plenty of seating and tables can be moved to fit a larger group. If you drive there is plenty of parking behind restaurant in a gravel lot. If you dont mind parking on a narrow street you can park by the park. The inside is a little dimly lit, and that is too bad because you might miss seeing the historic architecture of the place. The outside of building is painted in quaint familiar mexican motif. It catches your attention right away. Honey had the Chimichanga bandera, it was almost too pretty to eat. I had the red enchiladas with an egg on top. Dad had his favorite combination plate that had a lot of everything. I didnt get a picture of it, but I did of the other two dishes. I'll visit this place again, when I return...
Read moreWent for the first time today and was pretty blown away by the food and the service. We went after the lunch rush so we didn’t really have to wait, and our food came out in less than 10 minutes. The free initial chips and salsa were great, and the guacamole was so tasty. I got the huevos compuestas plate with both the red and green chile, and this is the only place that I could say that the red is better than the green. I usually prefer green, but the red had just the perfect amount of heat and flavor. The eggs were also cooked to a perfect over medium. My partner got the chorizo con huevo with flour tortilla. The tortillas came out fresh and hot, it tied the meal up perfectly. We also got the French toast… and it was easily the best French toast either of us have ever had. Our waitress was amazing and so attentive. She made our experience great. We will be back in the future, especially for the red chile and the French toast. Looking forward to what else they...
