Ceramic 1 for beginners with little or no knowledge was a fail. The class description stated, “Begin by exploring hand-building techniques such as coil and slab building, then move on to creating forms such as bowls, cups, and mugs on the potter’s wheel” none of these forms were covered in class; it was more of a free for all with little or no instruction, even when one asked for help. Great place to take the kids with the living collection at the museum of nature and science. The railroad museum is fun for children also. Brannigan cultural center gives a good history of the Mesilla valley. The collections are usually historical and cultural. All the museums are great for adults, especially the museum of art. Remember these museums are all really small. Don't think you can spend a day looking at all four museums. But they are special to Las Cruces, small...

This is a small museum that has brought some outstanding exhibits to Las Cruces. And the permanent exhibit on display when no other exhibits are mounted showcases many of our local artists well.
