Starbucks in Cruces, and as a whole, have taken a serious dive and are increasingly inefficient. Every time I walk up to the counter they always seem to be so busy with the drive-through and flat-out ignore the counter. Even if they see you, the ignore you. Won't tell you to wait a second. Simply they don't acknowledge your presence. Let's back up to when you first walk through the front door. You walk in and there are two people in front of you. It takes eight minutes-yes, eight- to get those people through for whatever reason. You walk up and that person walks away to do something for the people working the drive-through. Why on earth are there three people working drive through and a fourth walking away from the counter to assist? Inefficiency at its finest.
So, finally, they acknowledge me and unlike everyone else that came before and will come after, I order a damn coffee. Coffee-flavored coffee. And pay cash. The absolute quickest order in the world. But they run out half way through and want me to wait for another pot to brew and essentially offering to top off what was already poured. No thanks, just top it off with something else so I can get the hell out of here.
Finally get my damn coffee and go over to the other counter for cream and sugar. Well, for some reason they aren't putting out half and half anymore. I walk up to the counter where they serve drinks and I'm flat out ignored by the people working in that corner. One of them actually ignored me when she came up to get ice from that area right in front of me. I'm obviously not standing there for my own health and yet I had to get her attention. Still took three minutes to be acknowledged. She acted like getting half and half was a small pain but whatever. Finally, after 12 minutes I'm out the door with not-very-hot coffee and pissed off.
Drive home and the first thing I have to do is re-heat it. I drink my coffee and go to finish it with an unwelcome mouthful of coffee grinds. I actually had to rinse my mouth out to get it all because it was so much. Dumped the rest of my coffee out in the sink and you would have been shocked to see what was in there. Pissed off for the sixteenth time since leaving the house for coffee.
Was I thorough enough in my explanation of how easily this place can piss you off? I, myself, will never be back and fully boycotting starbucks across the board. They are no longer a coffee shop and all the added services and crap they make are immensely slowing down what used to be a simple affair of ordering coffee and leaving. I'm done. Go at your own risk of testing your patience. You won't have any when you finally get out of there. I'm strictly spending my money at local coffee shops even if they...
Read moreI recently went to this location this morning around 5:30AM on 09/02/2025. I placed a mobile order and unfortunately my early morning brain selected the Telshor location instead of Lohman. When I got down at Lohman to "get my drink" I obviously realized saw there wasn't anything on the counter for the mobile orders and the young girl with the black framed glasses ask's me in a harsh tone, "Well are you sure you placed your order at the right location?" I told her I was sure but I double checked and she was right, I placed it somewhere else. I look at her and tell her oh you're right, my bad about that and as I'm walking she didn't even give me a response, she just stared me down as I walked out of the store. I get it, it's early in the morning so I don't expect people to be as Jolly but if I can still give you the simple respect, rather I'm tired or not then I expect that from you as well especially while working in customer service. I think I'll just stick to my regular location and instead of having to deal with petty attitudes over a simple mistake on MY end at...
Read moreThis was a medium size location and was not really busy inside but had a steady drive through business consistently for the time I was there. I ordered a venti soy no water chai in a personal cup. After 20 minutes I went to check if they planned to make it. They blamed the printer for not printing a ticket, but my cup was sitting there, did they think it was a new decoration in their way? As I'm standing there two more personal cups are set next to mine so when a barista finally asks what I'm waiting on I tell him the order and which cup. He makes the drink in a paper cup and then puts that into the wrong personal cup and tries to give it to me. Now I don't look like I carry a pink cup, but I simply repeat to him "the stainless tumbler that says orca on it". He made the drink again, put it in my cup and passed it along. He was very pleasant and I think was drive thru picking up slack for the barista slamming and sloshing his way through...
