After following this place for a while on Instagram and anticipating our visit one day I must say that I was highly disappointed. The food was just OKKK. I already knew what I wanted when I walked in the door because I've seen it numerous times on social media. The garlic noodles topped with ribeye and fried shrimp. The most expensive thing on their menu and somehow, some way the Ribeye was Extremely Chewy! $62 for a piece of rubbery steak ordered to be cooked Medium. It was worst than jerky! When I let the waitress know about it all she said was "Oh no I hate to hear that" and proceeded to walk away. Ain't no way we traveled all the way from Florida to Vegas to support a black owned business, for this type of food and service. After I had to probe for something to be done about the overcooked steak, our waitress got the manager to approve for the dish to be switched to something else. We chose to switch to the fried ribs with noodles. The waitress asked if we also wanted the fried shrimp add-on to the ribs and we agreed (because that's what we had on the steak dish already). Little did we know that they were going to charge us twice for the fried shrimp add-on. When we got the check and questioned the double charge the waitress explained and then got the manager for us to speak with. The manager came out the back with an attitude before we could even get one word out. She tried to cut us off as we were explaining that everything should have been communicated if it wasn't going to be fully taken off of our bill. After a long discussion she still refused to remove the item...
Now on to the actual taste of the food... The fried ribs with the sweet chili sauce on top were pretty good. Fried shrimp were large but nothing special. Good seafood batter on the shrimp, we asked for a side of aoili for dipping which added the umph that they needed. The noodles were tasty but extremely garlicky so you can't eat a lot of them. I was belching garlic for the rest of the day. The portion sizes are huge so luckily we chose to share. The lemonade was really good, they were out of pineapple flavor so we mixed strawberry and blueberry..
Definitely recommend to save that $50+ taxi/uber fee traveling from the strip to here if you're visiting. Their brunch location on the other hand was a much...
Read moreJust disgusting. Oh Lord, where do I start.
For starters, my brother ate from their food truck in L.A years ago and was excited to take my mom out for her birthday, which is why we ended up here.
No alcohol. Only super sugary drinks which wasn't too bad but a little disappointing when there's literally 3 options for beverages.
We made reservations and when we got there, the only waitress explained to us that HALF of the menu was not available, including the drinks. How y'all take reservations and not have most of the menu ready for your expected guests? Irritating.
The waitress always seemed to be annoyed that we were asking for the bare minimum like our food being warm or correcting her when she mixed our orders up. She was the only waitress there and was dressed like she just woke up.
As a black woman, I love supporting black businesses and have no problem with some foods being a little on the salty side. I CANNNOT support this black business nor could I eat ANY of the food because of the assault on my tongue because EVERYTHING WAS OVER SALTED.
It's as if the "chef" poured half of container of salt on everything, didn't taste it, then sent it out with their egregious prices. None of the food came out at the same time. We had to send the first plate back because it was cold. The unapologetic and rude waitress took it back and gave us the same food and it was still lukewarm.
My $40 oxtails tasted like jerky with some weird oversaturated sweetness added to it. All the noodles that came with the dish were over salted, sticky, and did not go with any of the dishes or protein provided to us.
My brother ordered medium steak but his steak was so overcooked it tasted like he was eating a sandal. He sent it back and asked for it not to be returned.
Finally, we were given stuffed crab shrimp and it was so salty. All of us had to SPIT IT OUT and couldn't even finish it. We had one left over and we urged the waitress to make the chef eat it because there was no way he tasted this food as it was so salty and gritty and inedible.
All of this and $167 later, I left there starving and my tongue burning with all the salt. I am genuinely confused on why this place is still opened...
Read more"I was eager to try out Bleu Kitchen Garlic Noodle Bar especially after seeing numerous enticing reviews on Instagram and their captivating posts. As a supporter of black-owned businesses, I was excited to give them a try during my visit to Vegas. However, my experience left much to be desired.
Upon arrival, the waitress was pleasant and took our order promptly. However, my excitement dwindled when she returned shortly after to inform us that the shrimp fried rice balls, a dish I was particularly looking forward to, were unavailable. In hindsight, this should have been a red flag.
Despite the promising start, the food failed to impress when it finally arrived, and the service took a turn for the worse as the restaurant began to fill up. With only two waiters on staff, it became increasingly challenging to get anyone's attention. At one point, I had to take matters into my own hands and retrieve my own to-go boxes and check from the counter.
Although the waitress assured us she would return to collect our payment, she never did and even left the restaurant with her purse. After an excruciating 20-minute wait, I finally managed to track down the other waiter to settle my bill, which amounted to over $150.
For a restaurant charging such prices, the level of service was utterly unacceptable. It saddens me to write this review, but honesty is crucial for improvement. My advice to future patrons: don't make the same mistake I did by overordering based on appearances. Try a small sample first before committing to larger orders, as I was left disappointed by my experience at Blue Kitchen Garlic...
