Emily, the Monetary Transaction Specialists Extraordinaire, was friendly, cheerful, and accurate with my entire order. She seemed as though she genuinely enjoyed being there and wasn't annoyed with my presence; It's hard to come by quality workers like that these days, especially ones who excel with customer service--Hold onto Emily like Gold, El Pollo Loco!
I gathered my condiments and was barely able to sit down before my order was completed and ready. As I opened the container, I was spontaneously greeted with a warm cloud of steam (pleasantly reassuring me how hot and fresh the food was) and immediately afterwards, a delicious aroma that was cast from the seasonings used to perfect this glorious chicken meal! To top it all off, this incredible Eight Piece Leg/Thigh entree was exquisitely complimented with my side order of tangy-smooth guacamole; a masterful lunch, indeed.

Read moreIt looks like another restaurant has run through its restaurant life-cycle. For the last several years, I've been coming to this particular El Pollo Loco and loving it. It was one of my favorite places (good food and clean). Today (Wednesday @ about 11:30 am), we walked in and were told they had no chicken breasts/wings (this happened to us at their Decatur location (on a Monday @ about 11:30 am) the last time we tried eating there, too). How can a restaurant called "El Pollo Loco" ("The Crazy Chicken") NOT have chicken breasts or wings at lunch time? My wife "discussed" the situation with them for a bit (wondering how they were serving their double-chicken salads if they had no white meat) and after some back and forth, they admitted to having some squirreled away for that purpose. They gave us one of them. Right. So, we went looking for a place to sit (there were about 3 other groups of people in the place) and found the whole dining area to be filthy.
I don't know what happened. I'm pretty sure they've changed managers since the woman who used to be running the place isn't there any more. Yes. The food still tastes good. But, the management better get their act together or that's...

The food used to be consistently good but the service has always been poor. Now the food isn’t great either. For instance, tons of cilantro stems in our tacos - tons! An occasional stem is no big deal but today the tacos were overflowing with stems. The burrito has so much chicken fat and gristle that I couldn’t even finish it.
Now, the service is frankly the worst part. I try to be kind to everyone especially people involved in customer service. I’ve seen customers be truly awful to workers at fast food restaurants but for some reason the people working at this location are so annoyed that they have to assist you. Every time I come here the employee is rude, huffs and rolls their eyes, snatches the card from me, or generally scowls at me. It’s ridiculous!
Doesn’t matter if they are slow or slammed I always get serious attitude from the employees here. I guess if customers are such a bother and since the food is subpar, I’ll just find someplace else to get my tacos...
