I went yesterday and placed 4 orders in line. The server told me that I had to go to the end of the line to order, since they have a policy that 4 or more must place their orders at the end, which was no problem, and I told the cashier that I was in a hurry. I went to the end of the line, and the woman took her sweet time to enter my order. The woman gave me half of my change and told me that she owed me $2.00 bc she was short in her drawer. I sat down and waited about 10 minutes while I watched about 20-25 other customers including two who had to-go orders of 4 and 5 orders that were allowed to go through the regular line. When I saw the women who was in charge of my order, I asked, "Excuse me" very loudly, she looked at me and kept walking (a Hispanic woman with long hair tied back). I continued to stand at that register for another 10 minutes while everyone ignored me. After 20 minutes and witnessing about 30-40 customers being served, I ask for a manager who told me that it is their policy for 4 or more orders to be served via a separate ordering system. I told her that I saw 2 other white people being served in the regular line with 4 and 5 to-go orders within 2-3 minutes and she asked me what I wanted her to do. I told her that I felt singled out bc the only two other customers who requested to-go orders were served immediately and I was the only (non-white) one to be sent to the end of the line to place my order (not to mention, the only person sent to the end of the line). I told her that there was no one in line when I arrived, however, they told me to go to the end of the line, where they served every one but me, until the lunch hour rush passed. I told her that I felt singled out and she told me that I would have to speak to the server lady who took my order. I also told her that I never received the rest of the change $2.00 that they owed me and she told me to talk to the server. The server arrived about 20-25 mins after I placed my order and argued that she already gave me my change. At that point, I didn't care anymore other than to get the food that I paid for my co-workers bc I had already wasted about 25 mins prior. The Manager (curly red headed woman) did not address my concerns and told me to address my concerns with her server. The manager got the server (a cubby short Asian woman) who insisted that she already gave me my change when the Hispanic woman promised it to me. I told her that my change was never given to me and that I had given up and only cared for the food that my co-workers ordered. She gave me the food without explanation and I had to personally pull out each order to verify the accuracy. I asked the curly headed woman for a contact to send a comment and she told me to search for their company name on the internet bc she didn't know of any comments/contacts information. I asked her to write any information down for me and she told me that she didn't know anything other than what is on the...
Read moreI heard so many great things about this place from my mother up until the time we came here today. It was just a clustered mess, no one knew who had what and they skipped right over my sister for soup. They were assembling our trays and asked if it was correct, which seemed so but we were being rushed. The host did not read back our orders and on our side all we could see was drink orders and the combo of 2 salads and soups plus they charged us for goat cheese that they placed without asking, luckily they put it only on one of our soups and my sister and I switched. However, after we got situated at the table they brought over another sandwich and it confused us because none of us ordered sandwiches. My mom took a look at her receipt and of course we were charged for two extra sandwiches. Which seemed familiar to me because the two ladies in front of us ordered those sandwiches.
Also, when the host went to hand my mother the pen to sign the receipt it fell into her soup and of course my mom asked for a replacement and when the host told them she needed a new one they asked why. She says "she dropped the pen in her soup." Well, that goes both ways, first you shouldn't be handing pens over any food which causes contamination. Two, dont immediately go blaming the customer, they is offensive.
Remind you we were being rushed and asked if it looked correct and the host did not read our order aloud.
My mom goes to the counter to ask about it and to tell them we got sandwiches we didn't order and she had paid for. The manager or shift leader says "well didn't I ask if the order was correct when you were up here." At this point, I got upset because my mom looked upset and it's our last day here visiting. He wouldn't take just one moment to listen to her and try to solve a problem. And instead we wasted food that we didn't order but paid for.
In order to get and keep customers, you have to be willing to listen to them even in the busiest moments to show that you actually care about...
Read moreI used to love Cafe Zupas, I would go at least once a week and use to recommend it all the time, until my experience today. I was there last week and they were out of ranch dressing so I had to order something else, which was fine but I was not as happy with what I ordered. Today I went in totally looking forward to getting my chicken chop salad with ranch. But apparently they took away the regular chicken chop. So I asked the girl if I could choose another salad but just change it a little bit. She said yes, I wanted Ice berg lettuce like the old chicken chop had but they no longer serve ice berg lettuce. What kind of salad place doesn't have ice berg lettuce??? But I was hungry and had already been waiting a few minutes so I ordered the new chicken chop but I asked to not have the tomatoes on it, so the girl wrote it on the top of my to go box, no tom. Not what i wanted but I would live with it. So I get the end of the line and pay for my food. I waited for a couple minutes after paying, then they finally brought my salad, and there were tomatoes on it. So I told the cashier. She took it back to the front of the line. I waited for 20 minutes for them to fix my salad and when they finally got it done, it STILL had tomatoes on it. I wasted 30 minutes and they could put a few topping on lettuce. It was ridiculous. I asked for it to go because i was in a hurry. I asked for my money back and left. They service was terrible and they didn't even apologize. It wasn't like i asked for anything complicated. Im sad to say I probably wont ever return. It was a...
