Someone recommended this place to me. I previously avoided going here as I am allergic to seafood. However, after the recommendation, I've been here several times. Thus far, the employees have been good about understanding my seafood allergy and I have looked at the ingredients to make sure I order things without seafood ingredients. There is a menu notation that a possibility exists for cross-contamination of food products.
I've had the teriyaki chicken breast bowl with vegetables and white/brown rice, the fried rice, the noodles, and edamame (soybeans) a few times. The food has been consistently good, and the portion sizes are small, medium, or large bowls (the larger the bowl,, the more meat you get). I do not ask for more teriyaki sauce as I like the food as it is prepared. Some people might prefer more sauce but I'm fine with the way it is served.
There are chicken, beef and salmon bowls as well, but I have not tried them. The chicken might be thighs or mixed white and dark meat.
The vegetables are mainly sautéed cabbage with some sliced zucchini, broccoli, and onions. I like that it is not overly seasoned as I have to watch my salt intake.
The rice, whether white or brown, is okay. The fried rice has peas and, I think, thinly sliced carrots. The noodles are minimal as well.
The edamame is in the pod. You just pop out the soybeans to eat, and it is not salty. I order this as a side dish.
Overall, this is a fast food place. You can eat in as there are several tables,, but I choose not to do so. I think the bowl portions are sized well for what you get, and the bowls/sides are priced accordingly. Not cheap, bit good food at a reasonable price. And the employees...
Read moreFunny how many not-bad experiences can all be washed away with one bad experience. Ordered food from a younger cashier, paid with debit card, did not get a receipt, sat down and waited for food. My name is clearly printed on my card.
After a while, an older lady calls out "Jayden". That is not even close to my name, so I don't answer. Resturant is pretty full, including a couple sitting outside. I don't know who's that order is. Lady never called out the order when no one responds.
Eventually, maybe 10 minutes later, I go back to the counter to check on my order...
I get handed the order sitting there. I said: "Really? It's been sitting here 10 minutes."
The old lady, without even looking up, says "I called your name several times." 100% straight to blaming the customer!
I asked for the receipt and saw the name "Jayden". I said "That isn't my name."
The older lady keep looking at the register and offered a coupon for 20% off. I declined.
No apology, nothing. No acknowledgement of their error.
Been here many times, never an issue. But it's when there is an issue that you see how the business is really run, and how that business really treats their customers.
Added to list of places I won't go to any more. Will they even notice? No. But I can't support a place that has poor service. Maybe think about this next time you are...
