Read moreVERY DISAPPOINTED with Casa Don Juan! Let me spearhead this. Our son is in the military and is home on leave this week. One of his request was to go to his favorite Mexican restaurant because he says the Mexican food is generic where he is stationed at! Granted, we live in Las Vegas and our son has so many choices, but he wants Casa Don Juan. Our experience was like a firework. It started off beautiful then the service and staff fizzled out. Our server who shall be nameless, was personable, however when he received another table he became overwhelmed and forgot about us. He didn’t check on us once after we received our food. Our drink cups were empty through the whole meal because our server was focused on the other table. Had to wait forever for the to go boxes and check. Then to make our evening from bad to worse.... We are at the register ready to pay and our server specifically tells the cashier VALERIA that our son is military and to give the military discount. Our son pulls out his Military ID to show and Valeria says “go ahead put it away, I heard that you are in the Army!” So, she takes our payment and says “OH, I FORGOT TO GIVE YOU THE MILITARY DISCOUNT!!!!!” Kind of a coincidence after she processed our payment. Then VALERIA says I can run it again and give the military discount but your first payment will still be charged until I have it canceled. At this point I’m frustrated because my card is gonna be charged over $200 for mediocre service, food below expectations, and an incompetent cashier. My heart is heavy because all we wanted was a meal with the whole family. Our Army son won’t be home for the holidays and most likely we will not see him until next year! Casa Don Juan you ruined our evening and I’m sure I’ll never here from any manager about this service. Next time, we will find a Mexican restaurant that is more appreciative of their customers and most importantly...
Read moreMy one star review is based on the meal, experience, and how management handled the issue.
First off, my experience tonight was an absolute disaster on so many levels. First, my order was placed correctly with the waitress but the food was not prepared correctly (missing items) so it had to be sent back to the kitchen to get fixed. When the order came back out a 2nd time, it had to be sent back to the kitchen again due to the temperature of the food being cold. When the order came out of the kitchen a 3rd time, the order came out incorrectly AGAIN.
The one thing that they didn't mess up was making sure to put the food charge on my tab for the food coming out incorrectly / at unsafe food temperatures THREE times. Long story short, I won't be coming back and I have been eating at Casa Don Juan for over 15 years. The service and food quality has gradually deteriorated over the past couple of years.
If you choose to eat here, eat at your own risk. This location consistently struggles with consistency: Here are some examples of their struggles:
The portion sizes of rice and beans are never the same from visit to visit. You may end up with a quite a bit of rice and beans or you may end up with hardly anything.
Food temperature is never consistent. You may get a hot meal or you may get a cold one. Just be prepared to send your food back if it is cold, and be prepared to have it come out wrong when you do.
Service is hit and miss. Our waitress was fairly good tonight but the last time we ate here, the service was less than desirable.
Due to my experience tonight (and recent prior visits), I can no longer recommend this location to anyone. Consider other alternatives first before wasting your money...
