Paulie’s South Street Steaks in North Las Vegas exudes an exhilarating and vibrant atmosphere, capturing the essence of fun and energy. As a locally-owned establishment in the heart of the Las Vegas Valley, it radiates charm and pride, drawing inspiration from the lively spirit of Philadelphia's renowned cheesesteaks. Upon entering, you're immediately immersed in the lively ambiance, characterized by bright lights and a bustling environment.
However, despite the initial excitement, my visit to Paulie’s didn't quite meet my high expectations. I opted for the Whizbang!, a cheesesteak featuring the signature Cheez Whiz, priced at $14.46. Eager to see if it lived up to the hype, I found myself disappointed. While the portion size was generous, the flavors fell short. The Cheez Whiz, although creamy, didn’t enhance the sandwich as anticipated. Furthermore, the meat lacked the flavorful punch that defines a great cheesesteak, leaving it disappointingly bland.
It's possible that my expectations were heightened by the buzz on TikTok, where Paulie’s has garnered significant attention. Nevertheless, the experience didn't quite match up. The sandwich failed to deliver the anticipated excitement, and I found myself reminiscing about other local spots where cheesesteaks are crafted with more finesse and flavor.
Despite this, Paulie’s undeniably has its appeal. The vibrant atmosphere and strong local roots make it a suitable choice for those seeking a quick bite in an energetic setting. However, for seasoned cheesesteak enthusiasts, there are better options in Las Vegas that offer a more unforgettable and flavorful experience. Overall, my rating for Paulie’s South Street Steaks would be an average of 3 stars—not a cheesesteak revelation, but still worth considering for its lively ambiance and...

Read moreI'm editing my review from yesterday which I was too harsh. Yes I did wait a bit for my sandwich, but it was busy and they probably would have benefited from having another person.
I moved to NLV the same day it opened, and I have been getting cheesesteaks from here since. Overall at times the service could improve, but everyone is trying. It's a mom and pop, I should have more patience and do my best to support.
With that being said, the food is massively consistently great. The bread, the steak, the wiz is a 10. It doesn't matter who makes my steak the results are the same, and that is the hardest trick to pull for your signature sandwich or any meal for that matter. Growing up on the east coast having many CS and more than a few in Phili, I'd put this up against any of them. The CS is money and perhaps the best one I've ever eaten.
It's a long shot I know, but requesting a sandwich on the menu the way I order it. With wiz, and with ketchup all mixed together w/meat. Yeah it's strange but yeah its good, I can't eat one any other way.
So hopeful you take 2 things away from the review: The Cheesesteak is great Eat the Cheesesteak with wiz and...
