I had $75 omakase and it was by far the best I ever had. I traveled all over the world and whenever I go to a new city, I look for best omakase. I have been to Vegas so many times and omakase has been a big disappointment due to so many tourist comes in a out, that that royalty to certain designated restaurant is almost non-existent. For that reason many restaurants failed, at least that's how I see it. I pulled in to this restaurant, not really affluent neighborhood. There was a big white sign that says sushi in the plaza setting. Typically I wouldn't go in knowing good resturant owner would never have sign like this. I looked inside of this place and there weren't that many people. So it was a gamble to go in. I had to trust the review, which many times have failed me. Not this time. My instincts was way off. I set down in the bar which is what I expect from good omakase setting suppose to be. It was light wood tone, super clean and only 6 people can sit in this place. I looked at the menu, and there was no Omakase. Hummm.. did I come to wrong place again? So I asked my waitress and she was saying she can do omakase style at $45 with 15 pcs. Thats pretty cheap. People next me was already eating omakase so I asked how it was. These two big guys were from NYC and they been to many omakase also. They told me awesome.. so I decided to do $75 which you can get more and higher quality. After first bite I knew this is the one. Tuesday night when fish may be not so fresh, I hit the jackpot. When I land in Vegas I get my rental car and hit in and out burger and go to bed. Next time.. this is the spot I will certainly be coming after I land and one more before I leave. I am so glad I found this place and I am sure you wont be disappointed. Seriously I have been do best of the best omakase place out there... I am so dumbfounded that I found the place just now. Service is top notch. Waitress even open the door for me as I was leaving. I will never forget this experience. Do mo arigato...
Read moreAs a sushi eating expert, who has eaten in sushi made by great chefs in Tokyo, Sendai, Osaka, Shinjuku, Shibuya, Bangkok, New York, San Francisco, just to name a few, this was the most mediocre, overrated, and low quality product serving sushi restaurant, I have eaten in since 1998. First, the salad was dry, and wilted, as if they barely could spare the salad dressing. The rolls were 6 exceptionally small pieces, with fish that was dry, and the rice had no taste at all. Next, we ordered multiple sushi a la carte. I asked for extra wasabi, to which the waitress, who obviously prepared a powdered version, brought me a mushed down partly hydrated little plate of green mud. To express my disappointment is an understatement. Not only were the sushi fish small, but the rice even smaller, which had a gritty undercooked taste, almost like grits. Typically, sushi rice has a sweet, slight vinegar flavor, and very softly cooked. This would ofcourse compliment the nicely cut fish layered on top. These sushi rice was not. I think they heard my comments regarding the expectations of the food, and reality of being served what amounts to Food Court level sushi you can find in any mall in America. They didn't even asked us how was our meal, because it was obvious we were displeased. Clearly, the remarkable reviews of the restaurants, are from those that do not hold the Chefs, and owners accountable to providing a product as advertised, and take ownership of a mediocre...
Read moreOur friend from LA introduced us here and we have been coming to this spot ever since. This restaurant is my go-to for some good sushi in Vegas. We always bring our out-of-town fam and friends here and it never disappoints.
My last 3 visits here, I got the 15 piece Toku-Jo Sushi. The pieces you get are prime and always so delicious – including, uni, ikura, tamago, and toro. The service is straightforward and great, and you can also see the sushi chefs (who are really friendly) doing their magic at the sushi bar. I've tried the following appetizers (tempura, uni tempura, grilled cod, five kinds of mushroom, seared Scottish salmon sashimi salad) and it was all delicious – so pick whatever sounds good to you, I don't think you can go wrong here.
Parking is easy and plenty, and location is pretty unassuming, but so worth the drive if you're coming from far. You definitely need to make reservations here, and they have a set time of when you can call, so make sure you check on their website. The restaurant is pretty small and intimate, and the ambiance is def clean, quiet with Japanese flair. I have yet to sit at the sushi bar, due to the size of my party, but that is my goal for a...
