After attending class for years I have to re vote. The lack of clear communication is prominent. Try not being upset cause you drive 45 minutes one way to get to class or ride a bike 45 minutes one way and class is canceled. Then told you are rude for being upset. I feel they exaggerated the rudeness on my part which shows bad business in my eyes. Especially coming from teachers that rarely tell their students they are any good. It’s a harsh environment. I’ve heard them put down girls body size that is more than anorexic. I don’t agree with it Don’t give kids complexes for being beautiful but not anorexic. Your arms will never leave second position either. I wish this studio had an up to date website like every other studio to announce class schedule and cancellations. Im blocked from class for asking this. And wasn’t told which would’ve been nice instead of worrying they’re hurt and driving there to see. I think anyone would be frustrated spending almost two hours to get to a canceled class. The dance class is ok but I couldn’t see the level of excellence for the children so yes I would say look elsewhere. The kids never had great technique or grace. But they did know steps to ballet. I think they have reached a point where they no longer want to be teaching ballet and running a studio. And it shows. I should’ve not been forgiving of their character after watching the owner drive away in a new Porsche and Mercedes during covid. Talking about times are hard but we are having class and getting covid relief money. Says a lot. And I’m stupid for looking past it. Too bad dance studios are so unreliable. No wonder trufusion type places are able to take over. Way more affordable. Way more communication. Way...
Read moreDo NOT send your child here!! Where do I start....this was an activity my mother did with my daughter. She was paying $2400 annually for my child to attend here, she had been going for nearly 3 years. Every year we paid for her to perform in the Nutcracker. We bought multiple tickets and many of our family members attended only to watch her perform on stage for literally 30 seconds and the rest of the time sit against the wall while Mrs. Yoomi showboated for most of the performance. She is the owner of the facility and needs to hang up the tutu and give the students a chance to perform. Not only were the performances a waste, the classes can be a bit catty and your child will only advance to the next level if you pay enough money. Some reading this may say, "maybe she didn't have the skills to advance" to that I say, what have they been teaching her over the last THREE years then?? Friday was the final straw, my mother can't always sit inside to observe practice because she has my youngest, but when she walked in Friday they could hear Mrs. Yoomi screaming at a child, slammed the door to the room and then continued to berate the same child....turns out it was MY child!!! When she left that day she was completely broken, said she couldn't do anything right and wasn't a good dancer! To me, this is completely uncalled for when teaching children. Mrs. Yoomi should not be allowed to teach children so subject your child to her treatment at your own risk. I took my child there to be taught ballet but instead we are having to teach her that being verbally abused is not ok and to distance herself from such people. Awful environment,...
Read moreOne star is being nice. I am a professional dancer. My mother took my three younger sisters here one year for a summer dance camp, they hated the treatment. I figured it was teenage bias & decided to drop into a Saturday class myself. As any professional in the entertainment industry, my schedule is rarely anything close to consistent and I travel often. When I return for a second class, I was treated nastily by the owner Mr. Kwak for not having been there the week prior. I guess my money wasn’t good enough? Some people don’t know who to get repeat business, and a number one way to turn someone off, is to treat them badly. He & his wife use their adult/ advance classes as chance to show off and it’s quite embarrassing. I came to class to learn & improve myself, not watch an adult male seeking validation from people he’s supposed be teaching. Skip this & go find Don Bellamy, or Donald Williams for quality...
