This place is LEGIT! My first time getting goat tacos and it will not be my last. They have all the good meats, like lengua and cabeza, though when I went they were out of lengua. I got two cabeza tacos and a birria taco. All were good and the birria taco was to die for good. It was my first time eating a real taco in hard shell with cheese and wow, let's just say, they do it right. Get the three taco combo so you can get the broth too.
Not the best place to come if you need to go to the bathroom probably. There was some homeless guy sitting out front too. I washed my hands by the front cash register. Pay in cash to avoid 50 cent charge for using credit card, which they don't tell you about either. It's the authentic joints that hate credit cards. Whenever a place prefers cash, you know the food is legit and the owners are straight from some developing country where they don't trust credit cards. I feel you I feel you.
The back completes the authentic appeal with a stuffed animal machine that looks like it hasn't been used in decades and a table dedicated to the Virgin Mary with tons of dusty candles with the Virgin Mary photo printed on the side and some sad fake flower. A single one. Can't get any...

If you can look past the mismatched restaurant utilities, you'll see that the quality of the food and flavors is second to none.

It's been excellent both times I've eaten here...even the carnitas burrito. The lengua tacos are the best I've ever had, far better than Pepes IMO. When the tortillas and meat are fresh, the food cannot be surpassed by any other taco joint in town I don't think. Don't forget to tip them if you can afford to...they work hard here. Back to 4 stars.
UPDATE 01/16/2025 -I've gotten food poisoned for a 3rd time here and I won't be coming back. I don't know why this keeps happening but I hope the cook behind the counter isn't deliberately poisoning me or something. I know that the Carne Asada burrito I ordered, again didn't taste fresh. This time I awoke at 3am with nausea, gas, and severe heart burn. Today I'm still having the worst case of heart burn I've ever had and I didn't even eat anything spicy. Intentional or not, I think somebody is tainting the food or the salsa bar at this place. 2 stars.
Remarkable. The tacos & burritos are consistently amazing, though they tend to be much better in the day than they do at night. Can't wait to try some other items. Their salsa bar is excellent. The food is truly authentic and always fresh. I'd come here 4 times a week if I could afford it. Don't mind the needle exchange next door...there's a lot of drug users hanging around but it's never been a problem. It's a safe area and EVERYBODY comes to eat here...every race and background, because the food is simply awesome and consistent. Asada is awesome, quesa birria is awesome, pastor is great. UPDATE: I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU DON'T COME HERE ON A SUNDAY NIGHT...THE FOOD IS NEVER GOOD ON SUNDAY. That must be why there is nobody ever there on Sunday night. I think that might be the day they use up all the old food & old grease or something cuz my food was EXTREMELY greasy and not fresh at all...2 weeks in a row on Sunday. I've had diarrhea and had to shit 11 times in the past 36 hours since I came here on Sunday night, I definitely got food poisoned. So again, this place is excellent 6 days out of the week, just avoid Sunday.
Notable.
