Visited once in the past with dismissive service, a second look at West Charleston's Panaderia Y Pasteleria Latina suggests improvement over the intervening decade during which little else has changed in terms of the half-market and half-bakery layout.

Liked by natives of Mexico, the low prices and use of Lard praised by many, Sunday afternoon found a wide array of choices ranging from laminated Pan Dulce shellacked with Sugar to Brioche-like Ombligo.

Sold out of several Cakes, but just removing fresh Concha from the cooling racks, fortunate timing saw this day’s offering outpace many in Las Vegas while Galeta de Gragea and Cortadillo were each on par with what one sees at Cardena’s...

This place is amazing for sweet bread! They have so many varieties and it really makes me feel as if I’m back in El Salvador. The one that has this strawberry filling also seems to have cream cheese and it’s like a strawberry cheesecake in a croissant. 🤤 They also have tamales, chips, milk, and Salvadoran cream(crema). Sometimes it’s better to go around in the morning because that’s when all the good bread is freshly coming out of the oven. Very unprofessional... we made an order for 30 tamales 20 cheese (cause we are vegetarian) and 10 chicken... we paid for them in advance and they said they would be ready today by 4pm .. we go and they said they ran out of cheese tamales... how can you run out of what we ordered? How do you not put them aside for a customer that ordered them two days in advance and PAIDDD .. so they told us they’d give us twenty chicken tamales and 10 cheese.. ended up only have three cheese tamales. So yea they lie and obviously don’t communicate to one another... obviously...
