Panera Bread — Restaurant in Lathrup Village

This new location doesn’t deserve even one star. You are greeted by the name of the general manager on the front door. Wow! I am very impressed that someone is so proud of himself but why do I need this for? I can ask inside for the manager if there is anything I might need. Service and food were horrible. We ordered a tomato bisque, chicken and rice soup, ranch salad, chipotle chicken sandwich and a large drink. It took the lady at the register almost five minutes to get the order. They didn’t even call my name when the order was done. I checked after waiting for 20 minutes and the food was just sitting on the counter. Soups were cold and the chicken and rice soup was very thick and lacked any taste whatsoever. We had some because we were very hungry. The sandwich was sloppy, it looked like someone spilled the ingredients on the baguette. Everything was mushy and looked gross. The salad didn’t have grilled chicken. I went to the counter and complained about everything. They put a few slices of chicken in a cup and threw it in my face. Besides being very rude those cooks had no idea how to prepare an order. I mentioned that the chicken was everything but grilled, it was not cooked properly and almost frozen. There was a lady at the cash register counting money and together with the manager heard the commotion. They both were also very rude and told me that they serve the chicken cold, they almost were yelling at me. I brought to their attention to lower the tone of their voice and that the chicken was not grilled, it was almost frozen. They both turned around and left without even having the courtesy to offer to fix our order. We got very upset and just threw everything to the garbage, there was really nobody to talk to. We grabbed our Pepsi and walked out of there. The icing on the cake was that the Pepsi didn’t have any fizz, it was like colored water! Never going back to that place. I am wondering if the Corporate does even bother to read all these negative reviews. It would be pathetic if they read them and do nothing about it. It’s locations like this that give Panera a bad name and reputation. Don’t waste your hard earned money and save yourself an aggravation, just don’t go to this new location. We tried a couple of other locations before and the one on Haggerty Road is by far the best one with excellent food...

This Panera is a joke! Corporate needs to step in ASAP and get rid of these employees. I ordered online, it took over an HOUR to get to me. Intoxicated delivery driver. Incompetent manager. Ill trained staff...

My order was supposed to come between 7:20-7-35pm I called the store after the delivery guy went 15 minutes over the estimated time just curious if the driver may have been lost or anything. The sad excuse for a manager Jason puts me on hold & tells me that he just left the store and should be pulling up right now. I say that's impossible because it takes LESS than 3 minutes to get to my house. He assures me that the driver is pulling up (we've been on the phone now for 10mins). He may have had to drop some else's off. Im like huh?? Why would he go anywhere else first im literally 3 minutes away. But I keep waitin... Still no driver.... still no driver. I tell Jason if its been this long, I know my soup is cold and my smoothie is water. Jason keeps telling me that it JUST left the store. Its good. The driver Charles. pulls up AFTER 8:15pm driving weird. He stumbles up to my porch and FALLS INTO MY BUSHES. and tells me he's here with my food. Im literally in shock. I tell him I won't eat anything he's delivered. He's gathering himself together INTOXICATED. My food... I can't even get started. I call Panera MULTIPLE TIMES. No answer. My husband calls from his number, they answer. But gets put on hold once he starts asking for a manager. So we drive up there (.07 miles less than 4 minutes) And stand in line. First we watch a cook totally degrade a transwoman in line in front of me. He made jokes about her, whispering but loud enough for us and her to hear) We watched the young man at the front check his phone MULTIPLE TIMES, process cash transactions, make drinks and go back to checking his phone. With his headphones attached. AT THE REGISTER. Once Jason decided to grace us with his presence, he was rude, contradicting, and outright ignorant. Offering no care nor apology for his crew. I haven't posted in quite some time. However I felt the need to this time because I'm concerned. I don't eat and Panera Bread alot simply because there are not alot around. I needed and wanted something I could get that wasn't like all the fast chains that you see on every corner just about. Also I figured they were a healthy option. Anyway I went to Panera Bread a week ago and ordered got the pick 2 soup and sandwich. I chose the Broccoli Cheddar Soup and the Smokehouse Bbq Chicken Sandwich and added a Blueberry Lavendar Lemonade. I went through drive thru the person taking my order was respectful no issues there. I ordered at the speaker and when I say this was the fastest I've ever gotten a order before in a drive thru. I ordered pulled right up and payed they handed me my food. Looking back its almost as if they didnt even have to make the sandwich. First of I would not recommend the Blueberry Lavendar Lemonade at all. Secondly I hate to say it because it was good to me but the next day I got sick. I was off work for two days. I didn't have anything out of the ordinary. I thought about everything I had eaten and it didn't make since. Finally went back to work was gonna be a long day so I wanted to grab lunch went to Panera got the Smokehouse Bbq Chicken Sandwich again but Mac & Cheese this time and added a Frozen Strawberry Lemonade. The Frozen Strawberry Lemonade I would not recommend either it has the strawberry pink color but it was not flavorful at all I'm not even sure what the sour flavor was. The food though again was good to me. However not even 2hrs after being at work I started to feel sick again. Only then did it dawn on me that both times I had eaten food from Panera Bread same location the same sandwich. Considering I hadn't been able to eat alot at all since the last time I was sick. It only made since. I'd be careful about eating there. The other reviews do not boost my confidence that it could have been...
