I am very disappointed with my experience at this Wellness Spa. I was overcharged for a simple consultation fee, and the value of the service did not match the price. What made matters worse was the attitude of the ownerâaggressive, unprofessional, and dismissive when I questioned the charges. Before arriving, I had even called the day before to confirm the $75 consultation fee, yet I was still overcharged.
When I raised concerns, the ownerâs response was aggressive, unprofessional, and dismissive. She even went so far as to say my âenergyâ was wrongâdespite not being in the front of the building when I arrived, and only reviewing me over cameras. It felt more like she was defending the receptionist, who had already given me incorrect information, rather than addressing the real issue. I admit I did walk out due to price change, refusing to pay the remaining amount because it went from $75-$85 dollars. The receptionist was wrong and I can prove it. It only made matters worse. The owner definitely was aggressive about her coins and Iâm not upset about that is business but itâs how you conduct business. From my perspective, the pricing appears less about the quality of care and more about covering the cost of a high-end location, expensive equipment, and the âluxuryâ image the spa wants to project. Unfortunately, this comes at the expense of fairness and customer trust.
I later discovered that I am not aloneâmany other customers have also reported being overcharged and experiencing the same unprofessional behavior from the owner.
I came expecting a professional and relaxing wellness experience, but instead left feeling frustrated, disrespected, and financially taken advantage of. Until major changes are made in both management and customer service, I cannot recommend this spa.
Writer's reply to owners response:
The consultation I booked was clearly listed as 1 hour, not 30 minutesâand I can prove this with the time slot I scheduled. To say otherwise is misleading.
Additionally, I would never sit and tell my âlife story.â That is a complete fabrication. What I expected was a professional consultation, not personal storytelling. And on the subject of professionalism, as an aesthetic provider, it is standard practice to present your skin honestly so clients can see real results. Wearing full makeup during a consultation undermines credibilityâclients should be able to see your actual skin, not rely only on pictures.
For the record, this was never about money. I could have easily paid the amount twice over. The issue is with integrity and how clients are treated. The deposit itself even changed from $75 to $85, which raises serious concerns about consistency in your business practices. As a business owner myself, I know that if a front desk staff member makes an error, the professional response is to âeat the cost,â not push it onto the client.
Also, letâs be clear: the fact that you changed your consultation policy afterward speaks volumes. If everything was as smooth and clear as you claim, there would be no reason to change your policy. Clearly, there have been several complaints about consultation pricing and inconsistencies, otherwise your policy would have stood as it was. Instead of addressing those issues, youâre deflecting by accusing me of being rudeâwhen in reality, your tone as the owner came across as aggressive and unprofessional.
Lastly, I was not rude at all during my visit. Respect goes both ways, and just because someone is the âownerâ does not excuse being dismissive...
Read moreVery good experience with Amber. She was polite and was quick for my Brazilian wax which being almost 9 months pregnant is important. I had to stop a few times due to not feeling well laying flat on a table and having pressure on my chest from the weight of the baby. She had no problem with me stopping and was patient with me. Definitely will be back!
Edit: I use to love it here until I had a few run ins with the owner who honestly has awesome staff but the owner herself ruined it for me. The first time I met her was when I booked an appointment with another esthetician but she ended up doing my service. She complained about how she needed new estheticians because they donât know how to wax properly- note*she have me the worst wax yet since I had been going there. Her wax hurt so bad because she wasnât holding the skin taut and she left wax behind on me. I had told her I loved that it was a black owned business and how it was nice there and all the staff was black at the time and it was just nice to see a change in the upcoming black businesses. Somehow she seemed to take what I said to offense and didnât take it as a compliment at all. Another time, I bought her product called Clear (almost $50) which she said is made for sensitive skin but I happened to have a bad reaction to it and asked the esthetician Amber is they had another product that I could possibly use because that one was irritating me and the owner peeked her head out of her office and took over and she responded with â everyone that had gotten that product has loved it and itâs made for sensitive skinâŠ. Iâm not trying to say youâre lying butâŠâ after she said that I just dropped it and let it go because I found it rude of her to say that as Iâm TRYING TO BUY ANOTHER PRODUCT! I didnât ask for a refund or anything- just another recommendation for a product. Then another time I came in and saw she had a new pink salt body scrub in a large jar and so I asked if there were any sample sizes of the product or a smaller jar (because I wanted to try it) and she said rudely no thereâs not any smaller sizes because itâs made for your body. After that I stopped coming although I loved her estheticians- the owner has horrible manners and is too conceded and defensive. Since then I...
Read moreI was looking for a place to get my eyebrows done and seen the New Client offer for Brow Wax & Tint and Brazilian & Underarm waxing. After many attempts to find this promo on the website, I decided to call to acquire about booking. The girl attempted to book it for me but said that I had to download the app and book it there. (No where does it say that I need to download an app for this promo but I went ahead and did so). After 30 minutes of bouncing back and forth between the app and website and growing irritated, I called back and asked her to walk me through it or book it over the phone. She went ahead and booked it for me but I could tell there was confusion regarding what promo I was referring to because she kept mentioning 15% off which isn't the New Client offer.
After arriving for my appointment, I asked Alexa if she knew I booked a Brazilian & Underarms along with the brow and she said no and that she didn't have time to do everything. So I decided to do Underarms instead of brows since that belongs to the same promo. (Alexa or Alexis) was fine...no problems until I walked to the counter and see 80ish before the tip. I reminded the girl of the promo and she said "you have to book that over the app"đ§. At this point, I felt like I'm in the twilight zone and a deja vu moment of the very difficult booking process from the day before. The girl ended up changing the price to ($55) and said, "I will go ahead and give you that price" like I didn't call about that price before booking...a was okay with not getting my brows done and everything but I like to walk into an establishment knowing what I'm paying for without surprises and that's where the line is drawn. I'm skeptical about returning. For one Alexa did the grunt work so I feel kinda bad about it but booking should NEVER be this difficult and I wasn't feeling the vibe I was getting when she changed it to $55. Not gonna lie, I probably unintentionally shorted Alexa tip because of the...
