As an avid food enthusiast, I recently had the pleasure of indulging in a culinary journey that left me utterly enchanted and satisfied. My taste buds were treated to the exquisite flavors of Jamaica at a delightful eatery that showcased the best of Caribbean cuisine.Let's start with the star of the show - the Rice and Peas. Served steaming hot with a tantalizing blend of coconut milk, kidney beans, and aromatic spices, each spoonful was a symphony of flavors. The grains were perfectly cooked, with a fluffy texture that complemented the creamy richness of the coconut milk (somebody's granny is in the back with her blender making this coconut milk fresh daily). It was a comforting and hearty dish that instantly transported me to the sunny shores of Jamaica.
Now, onto the Jerk Pork - a true masterpiece of culinary craftsmanship. The succulent pork was marinated to perfection in a fiery blend of scotch bonnet peppers, aromatic herbs, and smoky spices. The result? A tender, juicy delight with a kick that awakened my taste buds in the most delightful way. The charred edges added a delightful crunch, enhancing the overall sensory experience. The presentation of the meal was impeccable, reflecting the care and attention to detail put into every dish. The vibrant colors and aromatic aromas teased the senses even before the first bite. What truly sets this dining experience apart, however, is the passion and dedication of the chefs. Their commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients and traditional cooking techniques shines through in every bite.In conclusion, my culinary journey with the Rice and Peas & Jerk Pork was nothing short of extraordinary. It's not just a meal; it's a cultural immersion, a celebration of flavors that lingers long after the last bite. Whether you're a seasoned foodie or simply someone craving a taste of the Caribbean, this is a dining experience not...
Read moreI don’t normally do this but… I called first and was prompted to save 3 dollars order online. So I did. The ordering system took 10 minutes to update my pickup time. The pickup time was set to 38 minutes wait. So I went anyway and as I walked in 3 customers were having difficulty with orders made online. Can’t find name etc.. I was told my food will be up in less than 10 minutes, not 38 like the app said. When I received my food I checked it and like the picture shows it was only chicken and rice and peas. No salad no plantains or even extra rice. Granted this is almost a must with Jamaican restaurants, including this one when they first opened would serve a delicious salad with raisins, not anymore. I asked that I thought I paid for plantains, the lady said no, it is extra. I said to her extra is not the problem I wanted plantains. She went on to explain had I bought the lunch special it would have been there, but since I ordered the regular it wasn’t… makes no sense that the food that costs more comes with less and you have to pay for what the cheaper meal comes with… that’s a horrible plan. All you had to do is get some plantains and have me pay for it. I asked, and told you I wanted plantains but it was more important to “school” me on the lunch special even tho I’m paying more for my meal Fix your website Where is the 3 dollars your voice note spoke of if I ordered online or the app???? Train your staff to recognize customers request.. notice I never asked for anything free. Good service is all I wanted but I see it is not here anymore as that...
Read moreI got the rasta pasta. The jerk & shrimp pasta, the Barbi fry chicken w rice n peas. The chicken Barbi fry was fantastic, tender and flavorful the rice n Peas were great as well. The jerk chicken some of the best jerk I've ever had and the shrimp jerk fire as well you could taste the grill flavor, amazing. The pasta underneath although was lackluster if it wasn't for the flavor dripping off of the jerk it would've been a pass. The white sauce is thin and bland nothing to write home about, truly was saved by the jerk juices that blessed the pasta with its great flavor. This brings me to the rasta pasta. I imagine this isn't a popular dish. It was exactly what I expected it would be without the blessing of the jerk, flavorless. The addition of the plantains brought it some life but that was it's only saving grace. After picking off all the plantains the pasta itself was a definite pass. I found myself picking pieces of jerk to add it to the rasta pasta, and in fact considered mixing the two pastas just for that flavor. The rasta pasta also had cheese on it...so I'm not sure how that fits into rasta diet, but there could've have been more added to the rasta pasta in my opinion that would have livelyed it up. Tomatoes, mushrooms maybe, and a bit of flavor. Besides this the juices where fire and I heard they juice there juices in house...but that's some good juice. 👍🏽 All in all the meat was fire. Jerk was fire. Rice n Peas damn good. Pasta meh. Rasta Pasta is a pass. The Juice ..it hit. Bit...
