We stayed here through Club Wyndham, so we thought it would be a good hotel, but we were wrong!! When you hear “golf resort” you think it would be a nice hotel but it was more like a party hotel. First they booked multiple huge groups with lots of children (a rugby team and a soccer team) that took up the pool without any adult supervision so we couldn’t even use it. They were in the pool even at night when it was dark and they were left unsupervised while parents sat at the bar and the pool lights were not even on so it was pitch black in the pool area full of children running around and screaming. The guest services were horrible. We called the front desk at 8pm and asked for toilet paper and towels and were told someone would be right up with it, 2hrs later and nothing. My husband went down to see if he could get it from them since it was already 10pm and we would be going to sleep soon and they refused to give him any and told him we had to wait for someone to bring it to us so he told them we were getting ready to go to sleep but had no toilet paper, so they said someone will be there soon. About 20min later someone came with just toilet paper and no towels so we didn’t have towels to shower the next morning. Friday night they had a wedding at the hotel and it was super loud and all their noise came through our windows until after 12am. Saturday they had a wedding AND a Sweet 16 party at the same time, so there was literally no parking when we returned to the hotel at 8pm and when we asked what we were suppose to do, the receptionist told us to “just park anywhere and since we have the hotel tag on our window it would be fine” but as soon as we walked inside a man in a Hawaiian shirt with a name tag told us we needed to move our car because it was t safe to park in front of the hotel and we needed to find a spot. I told him we were not moving because we were actual guests at the hotel unlike the majority of the people taking up all the parking who were just guests at the wedding and party they booked and that hotel guests should have priority over people who were not even staying at the hotel. He told us that when they book parties they get access to the parking lot so I told him that they should limit how many guests they can invite because they have actual guests staying in the hotel who can’t park! He took our name and said they would call us when a parking spot became available (along with many other hotel guests who also had to find parking at the park next to the hotel, in the grass, and along the edges of the parking rows) At 11pm we were called to move our vehicle which was so wrong to inconvenience their hotel guests because they overbooked the venue! I’m sure if the fire marshall had been called they would have been fined! They should not be booking weddings and parties, especially on the same day when they do not have the space or parking for that as their actual guests. Again the noise outside but the tiki bar (which we were told closed at 10pm) was loud until after midnight. The hotel was cute, we were told it had just been redone but we noticed a lot of things in the room that were covered up by paint. Looked like water damage on the roof was painted over and there were chipped paint patches on the ceiling, the shower floor looked like it was painted over and had some mold along the edges, the inside of the bathroom door was dirty and had black hairs stuck to it and there was a black hair stuck to the bathroom ceiling. This hotel definitely does not care about their guests! When we were checking out there was a staff member standing next to the front desk who stopped me and asked if I had a good stay and when I told her “no” she just said “oh, nevermind.” So I’m not sure if she was going to ask me to do a survey or what, but she didn’t even ask why our stay wasn’t great, so that showed they...
Read moreTLDR: you will probably enjoy this hotel if you care very little about the "hotel experience" and have great patience. The first floor gives beautiful pictures and a lively (insert footnote: elaborated under the main foci section) atmosphere. The people at the parties seemed like they were having fun.
Little patience and great care for 21st century features? Do yourself a favor by staying elsewhere :)
Note: though a handful of other comments covered the contents of this review, I just had to write an essay .
Main foci: I stayed two nights at this hotel, booked for price and proximity to where I needed to go.
Go on and read all about the interior design if you'd like, with the best parts concentrated on the first floor, it sure is nice and is great for pictures. Beautiful lobby and pool area.
My room was clean and spacious (perhaps because there aren't many items in the room itself). The most enjoyable parts of this hotel ended here for me. Bring all that you need, it won't hurt, and if you don't bring enough, it will hurt.
There is only one microwave for guest use that is meant to cover the needs of eight floors, and not to mention its poor heating ability... The coffee machine is mediocre at best, with water-tasting coffee and hot chocolate, or perhaps I just had bad luck in picking the worst drinks on the machine. Congrats to you if you do not consume either of these beverages, the machine produces very good hot water, and there are plenty of teabags provided. Drink away!
The WIFI is not ideal either. The connection has reloaded about three times since I started writing this review, and I did not take long to splurge out these comments and complaints. Browsing the internet? Sure, your page will load... but it takes patience. Recurring theme in this hotel by the way, if it has not been apparent to you. Now the connection can be alright at times, but you have to use it when (supposedly) nobody else is using it. Three in the morning might be high time to go on amazon, let me know how it goes.
Let's get back to why it will hurt if you don't bring enough. I called in asking about their free breakfast, hot buffet breakfast they said. Someone lied. One small table next to the front desk containing cold items, yes items like muffins, fruit, and yogurt. There wasn't even enough. Easily the worst part of my stay but still the poor internet connection takes the cake.
While in the room, the noise aspect of this hotel does not differ greatly from other places — noisy. The first floor is where the ruckus is. Party hotel. Again, timing is quite important. It will not be loud when everyone is gone :)
Bits and bobs within the room: Small refrigerator is clanky but functional. Can you see what this hotel has done to my expectations? FUNCTIONAL I don't use alexa but they have one, interesting choice, where's that microwave huh? TV! But doesn't work all that well thanks to the poor internet Record player, put on a few (included), nice. Dance on the wood floor if you'd like.
Checked in to H/ampton inn today, price difference of $20,...
Read moreThe motel resort that opens your mail
I don’t know how to adequately convey my disappointment in this place. It looks like a cheap motel out of the 50s. I felt like I was in a hospital. Everything is hard and cold, there are no paintings or plants or décor in the hallways to make it feel welcoming. The rooms are bare and sparsely furnished. The balconies have no privacy rails; you can literally climb over the dividing wall and get onto your neighbor’s balcony with no real barrier. Everything seemed to be broken, too. The elevator, the pool, the gym, the overall service… I’m not really sure what justifies the resort label aside from a couple mediocre restaurants, a nail salon, and a couple tennis courts.
The thing that is prompting me to write this review, however, is the customer service. During my stay, I had ordered a couple items from Amazon and had them delivered to the hotel. I had called the front desk before doing this to make sure it was ok. They told me it was, so I placed the order for overnight delivery. I included my name and my room number on the label. At around 7am I received an email from Amazon stating that the package had been delivered. At around 10:30am, I went down to the front desk to pick it up. I spoke to two different guys originally, they looked but couldn’t find it and didn’t think any packages had been delivered that morning. A lady (maybe the manager? I'm not entirely sure) then came up to help the guys. They tried to explain what was going on but I don't think she understood because she said in front of me that they open packages if they aren’t claimed. The guys tried to reexplain what I was looking for and she then said she didn’t receive any packages for me that morning. I told her Amazon sent an email saying that Maraya signed for the package. She said she was Maraya but she didn't sign for anything, she only gave them her name (not sure how that makes a difference) and they started the search over again. The space behind the counter was a mess of different packages and papers scattered all over the place, and they kept going into a back room behind the counter. Eventually, Maraya told me to call Amazon because they couldn’t find it. While I was looking for a way to contact Amazon, one of the original guys asked me what I had ordered because maybe they “accidentally” opened my package. I showed him and few minutes later he came out of the back room with my items. Neither of them had shipping labels and he did not have the shipping package, which means that in the 3.5 hrs from the time my items were delivered, my mail was in fact opened and the items were placed somewhere that 10-15 minutes of searching could not easily produce them. My name and room number would have been on the label. There is no reason that I can come up with that would justify my package being opened. Wyndham, I don’t think your employees know this but it is ILLEGAL to open other people’s mail! Resort or not, this is one of the worst experience I’ve ever...
