Lucky Bamboo Kitchen — Restaurant in Lawndale

Not THE best Chinese food I've ever had, but since most of the really good Chinese take out places are gone, this place works. The orange chicken is A-MAZING! The prices are on the high side and depending on who's working, they may or may not allow substitutions. The family dinner special, at $39-, is a good deal, but also depends on who's working. First time I was told I could pick anything that was on the menu, next time not. They didn't allow me to just pay the difference, I had to order it separately at $10-. For those of you into math, that's 30% added to the $39- price tag. I'd stay away from the fried won ton...it was a little overcooked for my liking. Saying all that, the family dinner special will feed 4-5 adults, with a little left over for snacking. Soup, 3 entrées, rice (steamed white or plain fried) &/or plain Chow Mein &/or Chow Fun. Main courses are cooked to order, so it hasn't been sitting on the steam table for however many hours before you get there. I might add, there is nothing fancy about this restaurant. There are a few tables, but just get the food & go. The food was still HOT when I got home. BTW, the prices have gone up since the menu was printed. It isn't hard to drop $70- here once you order any extras. For this reason, I can't afford to go there often, but it sure beats...

I must be be crazy to have missed this hidden gem. I have just been to lazy to drive and I would "Settle" for delivery food that Always lacked REAL CHINESE HOME STYLE cooking authenticity and incredible flavors. In true Chinese tradition quality hand picked products prepared with the care and pride are simply a Joy to fuss over and savor. I have scaled the walls of food mediocrity and finally found happiness right here under my Italian nose. Amazing foods found and prepared here to your exacting standards. I ate everything I ordered right here in the restaurant today. And took home a killer doggybag. Spicy Pork fried rice. Spicy combination chow mein. Beef and Bell Peppers w vegetables in spicy garlic. Chicken egg rolls

OK so I had to have more egg rolls another order And I deserved it.

Stop being lazy and settling for Medicare and come here and rejoice in really great food at...

We finally tried Lucky Bamboo Kitchen out after many of my local friends recommended them. The food's good and the service is super friendly. It's a tiny hole in the wall, take-out place with a big menu. The meat and carbs are fine but most importantly the fresh vegetables are cooked to perfection. The flavors are generally mild for the general public so my kids were able to try everything and they approve. I prefer stronger flavor so I could always modify for myself. You can tell they are well-loved by the community by watching them interact with them as you wait for your food. We'll be going back often to try the...
