Yes!! My husband and I moved to this side of town a month ago and have been searching for a good local eatery. We found it at Art's Skillet! We tried breakfast first, since that's what they're known for. We're busy people, so we always order to-go. I got the arts combo (don't remember the exact name) which came with French Toast, bacon (or sausage), and eggs. The french toast was PHENOMENAL!! Better than Grandma's! I ordered the dixie platter for my husband, which is biscuits and gravy topped with eggs. He loved it and stole my eggs too.
So we decided to go back for lunch, breaded tenderloin mashed potatoes and potato soup. Now, I don't like soup but I was craving potato soup. So good. One meal filled us both up and was cheaper than going to McDs and getting a meal each and still leaving hungry. I don't know what kind of breading was on the tenderloin (i think it was catfish breading) but it was PERFECT!! Rolls were soft and delicious.
Enough about the food, though. Here's what I REALLY loved about the place: The workers were nice. I know, it's strange to find somewhere on this side of town with decent friendly workers, but I've figured out why: It's because Art already has the good workers on his team. And I know why they're so friendly, too: It's because Art (the manager/owner) was right there on the front line with them, cooking and cleaning. How many business owners, or even managers, are like that? Hard working and so clearly proud of his establishment, and you can tell with just one glace.
Excellent workers, excellent food, excellent speed, excellent atmosphere, and excellent PEOPLE SKILLS. Very different from any other restaraunt...
Read moreStop by again this morning, on the 12th. Had breakfast, with the Daughter and Grandbaby. This time I tried the Bohemian Skillet, and the Daughter tried Art’s Skillet and the Grandbaby had Dave’s high 5. The wife unfortunately stayed home again today, so I had to bring her home a Giant Cinnamon Roll again 4.29. The“Bohemian skillet”consists of - Skillet potatoes, lean ham, fresh mushrooms, and onions blanketed with melted Jack and cheddar cheese, and two fresh eggs. All for - 10.29 quite scrumptious, indeed. “Art’s Famous Skillet” for 10.89 she substituted hashbrowns for diced potatoes, but the ingredients I’m afraid I don’t know, Sorry. But she liked it very much. And the granddaughter enjoyed Dave’s hi5 for 6.99 which was pancakes and bacon. Last time I had the “Kentucky Benedict”. This comes with a split biscuit topped with a sausage patty, over medium egg, with delicious sausage gravy and served with hash browns all for the low price of 9.49, what a deal. I really didn’t care for this very much, but it wasn’t bad. I must say we all enjoyed our meal, and the cooking is just as good here as E. Washington St., apparently I just didn’t like the meal last time. But the Bohemian Skillet was out of this world. Over the top service, affordable prices, just a great place to eat. Plenty of parking, it will be busy. Please stop and give it a try, you’ll be...
Read moreFirst of all, the owners appear normal but only care about there own people. For the cheap food you get, it’s over priced and tastes old. Yes it is seasoned well and reheated as if it were fresh however you might as well make a frozen breakfast skillet and call it five stars. As far as these reviews, they are from people who know them, not from real customers. That’s why the rating is so high to drive traffic. They are smart, however, if you look at the food, you can tell it has been made and remade, they probably save it from other customers who don’t finish there order and serve it to the next. Do you ever see them throw food away? Pay attention, just because the plate is hot doesn’t mean the food is hot and fresh this is an old trick resturants use and the waiters say careful it’s hot when serving. The plate? Or the food? It’s the plate, one last thing, the beautiful picture they paint for clients is not who they really are. People act real friendly when margins are good on cheap food. Basically, the restaurant by the highway is the best in the area, clean, fresh, and the owner truly is who she is. Steer clear from this place, it’s not...
