I'll start with making reservations, we were told we could have the table for no more than 1 hour. I should have hung up then and gone elsewhere, but, I didn't. Got seated and our server Kyle was right there. We ordered apps for the table, one was onion rings. They came burnt, I mean black! I took one bite and sent then back. When they came back out, the top 3 or 4 were good, then we were back to the black ones.(little did they know, we had a chef at our table, who told us that burning was due to dirty oil, they tasted like it's too) They had removed what you could see and replaced them with considerable smaller rings, but at least the top few were edible. Told Kyle about the black ones again, he agreed they were bad, however they were NOT removed from our bill. By this time, or 1 hour limit was up, no one said anything to us, but we all noticed we were getting rather nasty looks from one hostess(or whatever her roll was, an older woman obviously trying to hurry people). We ordered dinner. My "Big salad" was not much larger than the side salad, as a matter of fact, it may have had less greens on it than the side salad, but it did have good chicken and such. Several in our party ordered full slabs of ribs, and 2 ordered then with sauce on the side, however only one got the sauce on the side. A baked sweet potato ordered without cinnamon, only butter, came fully loaded with cinnamon. FYI, the smoked potato is NOT a full potato, no where does the menu day ANYTHING about it being a half potato. As far as the smokey party, it tasted just like a baked potato. We were not yet finished eating, and it was about 2 hours into our visit. The woman who, I assume had taken out reservation, and told us we could have the table for only one hour, and was giving us sorry looks all night, came to our table and said, I see we need a few boxes. Came right back, practitioner tossing the boxes on our table and was very loud when talking about the to go boxes. So rude! We treated Kyle well, and told him his service was wonderful. However after burnt food and wrong orders and the ride pushy lady, I don't ever care to go back! Must of the food was good, but to switch onion rings on the to and not the whole order, and feel pushed by that woman(for all I know, she may have been the owner), my money is better spent elsewhere. Oh, I almost forgot to add another the bathrooms. OMG the most horrible smelling restrooms ever. It's not that sometime had just been on there, it smelled like a dirty gas station restroom. It looked clean, but smelled disgusting. We had people notice it throughout our stay. Absolutely gross. Seriously, use a clean mop and decent disinfectant, maybe add a plug in...
Read moreI really don't know where to start. as a trusted reviewer and an honest person I have to do this. The quality does not justify the price the atmosphere is betrayed by the real setting of the outside world and its locale, coming right into the restaurant. that magical sense of isolation. I felt that in every fine eating establishment: you can be a small Cafe, a coffee house in a lazy river town, or even a steakhouse in a thriving commercial area similar to Florence OR colerain Avenue... they all have that sense of being in a bubble being away from the world and being there. there. ambiance. usually these things, when they are present, are accented seasoned and if we are lucky embellished by the human element. wonderful magic people cool, while in that bubble with you, throw this ambiance into anothertime and place where you're totally swept away in the eating experience the experience with your loved one with the magic of the day the memories made you're in that bubble in that ambience. I just can't find any of these elements that are almost beyond words that we look for when we go to a fine eating establishment or a nice spot for a casual restaurant or an upscale fine restaurant. It doesn't matter. that X-Factor whiskeys does not have it yet, and it's been here for quite a while. And if one could argue what is "it?" you just don't like it. no that's not it the food is okay. The people are nice ish it's hard to learn class. The people have a forced sense of upscale which translate to snobbery to someone in such a place the first time until the experienced you all know what I'm talking about. the thin veneer applied to every aspect of whiskeys is not enough to justify its price. But more so than price your special memories. that time on that day with your new love or your faithful lover that's been there since day one. that is the investment you do not want to be spent awry and lost. You won't find the magic here. if you're hungry and you don't mind paying a lot for something very basic with a twist. (something I've always called basic with the "hip twist.") if you don't mind paying quite a lot for something very basic with a twist and if you want the facade of elegant and nice and friendly in magical and ambience it may work for you. The most likely I would highly recommend doing some exploration and research in finding...
Read moreFirst off let me state that this wasn't my first time here but ultimately will be the last time here. I decided to take my wife out for what I thought would be a nice dinner because we had been here multiple times before this occasion and never has issues. This particular evening started with a 10 minute wait before anyone even acknowledged us standing by the check in area, that should have signaled me to turn and leave but we persisted lol. After another 10 minutes or so we were seated in an area we have never been in before that was dingy and dimly lit with what looked like food stains on the ceiling of the room we were in. I shrugged it off as we has already ordered and knew what was coming or so we thought we knew lol. We both ordered the NY steak meal which is 2 sides and the steak prepared your way. Mine was salad with lemon wedges , steak cooked medium and mixed veggies. My wife's was salad with ranch, steak medium and loaded mashed potatoes. The salads were just lettuce nothing else so we asked the server and she said it had been a busy night and they were out of the rest of the ingredients for the night so we made due and waited for the meal which was a disaster to say the least. My Strip never made it to the table instead I was given a ribeye which although cooked right isn't what I ordered, my wife's Strip was an actual strip but it was beyond well done and like shoe leather. So we had them remade only to be brought out 2 more ribeyes what we didn't order. The manager who is actually the owner then proceeded to tell me I'm crazy and I have no idea what I'm talking about that those are NY strip steaks she opened them personally herself and just very rude and nasty in general. Little did she know I have worked as a butcher for nearly 10 years and know exactly what I was looking at when she brought out ribeyes. This was ultimately our last visit to whisky's not because they messed up the order but for the shear audacity of the owner to act like this to a paying customer. If I would have read the reviews instead of taking someone else's opinion of the place I never would have ever eaten here. Seems her behavior towards customers is pretty common place. Take it from me stay away from...
