Update: Corporate may have to get involved. I tried to be patient, but there's no progress. I feel like I have been lied to because what was promised has not been done. I was even willing to update my rating. But nothing has been done.
It has been 6 months and nothing has been done about our points reimbursement or getting a refund after we had been given a dirty room and my husband got bit by bed bugs all over his legs, which made our vacation very uncomfortable and affected us thinking we could be bringing those things home with us. This was unnecessary stress. Please read my previous review. I have been calling and the manager said she was going to call me once the points were on our account. Nothing has happened. I called last month and Hope said she thinks her manager honestly forgot. Hope was the one who checked us out and she's aware of my husband's bites. I was nice enough to not make a scene at the lobby to not make other guests checking in uncomfortable. I will have to call corporate. This is not the first time we stay with Double Tree or with Hilton. This is the first time this happens to us, and my baby and my 2 other kids were in the room with bed bugs. I did not want to scare them. We worked hard to have those points. We just wanted to get reimbursed by either the points we used or the amount per night stay, or a credit to stay for the same amount of nights at a Hilton hotel of our choice. I hope someone reads this and takes care of us. We are avid travelers and we hope this is not our last stay.
Very nice hotel, and dirty room. We checked in late and the customer service was very dry. When we got to our room the shower was dirty with black feet stains, blonde hairs, and mold growing. The remote had sticky stuff on it, there was hair and crumbs on the floor, and the bed skirt had a white substance on it. There was a room key left by the previous person too. So it was obvious that the housekeeper just did a refresh for the previous person and did not do a full clean for the new guest. I spoke to Sophia about it in the morning and she said she would speak to management. I asked her to have our room fully cleaned. We got to the room late again and no one had done the room. I had to clean with my clorox wipes because I have a baby and 2 other kiddos. It was too late to complain. Then my husband woke up in the morning with over 15 bedbug bites!!! We had even checked the bed, and they were still there. Thank God, that I'm ok so far and the kids seem ok, but will have to double check them later again. I'm so disgusted. I don't want to ever go back.
The cookies were good, it's a nice town, and the view of the Ohio River is very nice.
The hotel room was gross, infested with bed bugs, the personnel doesn't seem to care, there's no complementary breakfast, no microwaves or mini fridge.
I'm very disappointed. We had saved our points to use for this trip, and we had an awful experience. We had not stayed in a double tree since our honeymoon. And after this experience, we don't want to come back and we do not recommend it to anyone, until management takes...
Read moreDuring our recent experience at Doubletree by Hilton in Lawrenceburg, IN. We booked online through priceline as it stated this hotel had good ratings and was listed as "very clean". We were really excited about having a riverview room as the fall trees were just gorgeous during this time of the year. Upon arrival the front desk lady was not very friendly and after we checked into our room and started unpacking we noticed a lot of alarming issues with cleanliness. There were toenail clippings and debris all over the floor indicating that it was not vacuumed, all the doors had hand prints and some sort of liquid down the bathroom door, the shower was very dirty, the shower doors looked like they have never been wiped down, a lot of rust in-between the shower doors. To add to that, there were weird stains all over the wall near the toilet and only had one hand towel and one washcloth which the towel was dirty with what looked like makeup on it. There was excessive dust on the ceilings and dust and rust on the bathroom vent, and hand prints on the mirrors. We called down to the front desk and was informed that they were very short staffed due to call ins and they did not have a cleaning lady on shift at that time, but we had clearly seen one down the hallway and informed them, but again they said there was no one to come in and clean the room. We asked if there was another king riverview room and they had informed us there was none available. Me and my husband were puzzled as there was literally one or two couples in the hotel that evening and 9 floors, no events or anything going on either. We then asked if there was one on the city view side even tho we did not want to miss the gorgeous view and after several minutes on hold she was able to find us a king on the city side. A very sweet young man came to our room to apologize and brought us our new room key which was on another floor. We went to our "new" room, this one was 50% cleaner, we were unable to use the office chair as there was either blood stains or fecal matter on the chair, there was only 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel so we had to go find someone again to get us another one since there were two of us staying in the room. Both hallways on both floors were very dirty with lots of crumbs and debris, both elevators had the same amount of dirtiness to it and had not been wiped down in what looked liked a very long time. We took several photos of these issues and were very disappointed and dissatisfied in our stay, no one had even called to check in on us and to make sure the new room was clean or anything. We thought by the time we checked out the next morning things in the common areas would be a lot cleaner, but they were still not touched by the cleaning staff and the same crumbled smashed cookie was on the floor of the elevator. Our server at breakfast was very sweet and the breakfast food was delicious, but that was the only positive part...

This review has been rewritten to be slightly more coherent as the first was done at 3:30am after giving up on sleep. We were traveling with a toddler so we rented the two room suite.
Pros: -The door locked -There was a bed? -Managed to get both a minifridge AND microwave which seems to be rare based on the other reviews -Very pretty area of Lawrenceburg
Cons: -Room was poorly cleaned. Thick soap scum on the shower doors, black grout in the bathroom but you could tell by the edges of the room it was supposed to be white, remnants of party decor from a prior guest still on the walls, fridge smelled awful, carpets weren't vacuumed much if at all, toilet hole-in-the-wall (or so it felt) was gross and didn't appear to have been swept in a couple months. -The wiring in the room was just...wild. Inside the door was three switches. Furthest from the door turned off a potlight over the table. Middle turned off the light in shower room, but not the half of the bathroom with the toilet. Closest to door flips the breaker for all but one lamp in the main room as well as the entire bathroom. This includes the fridge, probably why it smells. The light switch in the bedroom cuts the power to right hand bedside lamp and the alarm clock left hand side. The lamp by the alarm clock? Unaffected. Motion sensors turn lights off after only about ten minutes of stillness and some middle of the night testing revealed it also apparently affects the heating unit. Makes sense because we kept getting really cold in the bedroom with it set to 76. -The bed. Dear god the bed. My SO flopped on the bed to be dramatic and had their wind knocked out. I had to check to make sure there was a mattress under the sheets and not just two box springs. Never in my life have I come across such a hard mattress which, combined with feather pillows way past their prime, meant neither of us got more than an hour or two of sleep. -The "fast free wifi" is marginally better than I remember dial up being and frequently disconnects. We tried to stream a PBS episode on a phone for the kid and couldn't stop buffering. -The only information the front desk gave was use the elevators in the left hall and parking is in the free garage across the street. Took an embarrassingly long time to spot a QR code on the nightstand that led to an information brochure. That's okay though, most of it isn't filled out and still has filler text such as "Location: insert location Hours: insert hours". When we did have a question for the front desk and tried to call down no one ever answered. It'd only be slightly annoying if half the time you walked through the lobby the desk wasn't abandoned. -Mildly bummed we didn't get this magical cookie at check in everyone else did but honestly? Probably would've been stale with some fuzz stuck to it based on how the rest of the...
