Eating here was a transformative experience. I ordered the Pljeskavica with a side of fries, and it was beyond even my high expectations. I had always heard good things from many trustworthy foodies, but nothing could have prepared me for how good this was.
First off, the meat was some of the most tender, well-seasoned beef I've ever eaten. The garnishes and sauces are the perfect pairing for the patty, and the flat bread? Oh that flat bread. It's as if you made a grilled cheese, but you fused the textures of the cheese and bread together. Soft, fluffy, and spongey with the perfect crisp on the edges and just a slight and playful gooeyness in all the right places.
And the portion size for this was so generous! I had to quarter it and could only finish about half of it, but these will certainly be the best leftovers I've ever had. I just know it.
I'm writing this about five hours after eating here (not having eaten the leftover sandwich quite yet, but boy am I excited to get home), and the leftovers have been in the fridge this whole time.
Now, the fries are the best fries I've ever had. Period. The ratio of outside crisp to inside fluff is perfect. The oil is the exact saturation to be flavorful but not greasy. Perfectly salted. The seasoning is so pleasant. Truly the perfect fry.
But the reason I bring this all up is that I was feeling a bit snacky just now, and I ate one of the fries cold. IT WAS STILL GOOD!!! I tried a few more, and they were all perfect.
Like, it's just a known thing that once you put fries in the fridge, they get soggy or too starchy, and then you'd have to do a lot to reconstitute them. No. Not these fries. I've eaten a lot of fries cold (mostly out of desperation lol). But I've NEVER had leftover fries be good cold. That is wild, and Kudos to Adriatic Grill for that!
I also got baklava for desert, and it was perfect. The balance of ingredients was perfect. The crisp to gooey ratio was perfect. The sweet to savory to salty ratio was perfect. I ate half it right away, and I forgot to put it in the fridge, but even after it had warmed up and softened up, it was still perfect.
I would give this place 10 stars if I could. Please, please, please if you haven't tried this place, do yourself a favor and experience this bliss. I know I've only eaten there once and tried one thing, but that's how good it was. If I didn't get off work until after they closed, I'd have gone back for dinner.
Not sure why the Pljeskavica is not in the "Which dishes do you recommend?" section, but obviously I...
Read moreUPDATE 7-10-22 It had been a while since I visited this place after a few not so optimal experiences and as of today I'm not sure it's worth the trip out. Was surprised to see such a drastic price increase (large doner and fries now $17- almost double what it used to be). The fries were so greasy we couldn't even eat them (see my pics). The sauerkraut for my Reuben was burned and they're using pre-cooked meat that is being re-heated on the grill...I spent nearly $120 for 6 sandwiches and fries so i can no longer say this is a good value at all. To the owner's response, If the food was actually good (not laden with grease, pre-cooked, burned), i may not hold this stance. But I can't justify paying this type of money for leftover meat and crinkle fries. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend this place.
(This was my original response) This place popped up on my fb feed a few months ago and the food looked interested so I asked via messenger whether the food was halal and received a fast and very friendly response in the affirmative so I said that whenever I was in the area I would definitely pop in...fast forward to today Despite being busy, when we entered I was met with the same friendly (and fast paced) vibe as when my question was answered. I ordered chicken doners, grilled chicken salads, tiramisu and a chocolate toffee cheesecake (although the texture of this is more akin to chocolate mousse- not complaining! ) Everything was delicious, even my 5 year old was going all over the world (and my kids are crazy picky) saying it was 'tooooo good!' We actually ate in my truck and I end up going back inside to get an extra salad, doner, and tiramisu for my older girls at home. Wide (and interesting variety) of desserts and again, it all was wonderful... now I have to make an excuse to go back to lawrenceville !! Generous portions Fast, fresh, Friendly the only acceptable 'F's in my...
Read moreI was forced by my wife to drive up to this place to eat Mediterranean food. I usually pick up spots within a 5 mile radius to where I live. Anything over I prefer not to drive but this time my wife literally forced me to eat at this place. We entered and were greeted. The person or the chef immediately figured out by our actions that this was our first time so he recommended some good options. We picked up Philly Cheesesteak, Chicken Sandwich, Chicken Doner, gyro wrap, bubba burger. To my surprise the cheesesteak gyro and bubba burger were absolutely amazing. Never had something like this at any other place. I decided to get Togo for dinner also the same items. Chicken sandwich and chicken doner were just okay as I felt the chicken was grilled and were too dry which is understandable. After all who eats chicken at Mediterranean place right? But anyways much better than other places but I would stick to beef items only if I wanna enjoy the whole flavors. Desserts amazing tiramisu, chocolate mousse cake slices absolutely amazing. Not too sweet which was a good thing. I am gonna drive up to this place atleast 2-3 times a month as I feel this restaurant is so under rated. Wish this was close to north Gwinnett or Johnscreek, would’ve been much easier for me to pick up Togo but either way it will be worth a drive. If you people out there enjoy Mediterranean food, this place is not about kabobs, it’s like fast food Mediterranean healthy food (if you add veggies and salad and avoid fries). Love this place and support small businesses. Keep up...
