Severely shocked at price increase and quality decrease. So I usually don’t write reviews but we were so disappointed it is taking me a lot to muster up to leave this review because we have eaten here so many times over the years and when It was a choice between going to a really nice restaurant tonight we chose Hacienda because my wife being Latin has always loved it and I wanted to make her happy. I also apologize in advance for leaving a negative review but it was either complain to the manager which I did not want to do but this is the level of my disappointment. Service was excellent. They almost had too many servers for the lite crowd. Please keep in mind I am not primarily upset about our meal solely because of the price but it was the combination of the egregious increase combined with the lower quality of the food. Unfortunately whether it’s the economy or just a change in their business model we were not only taken back by the price that was presented to us on the check which literally doubled from where the price was last time we ate there just a few months ago. but the sad part is quality of the food has also been sacrificed as well. The choice last nite was Sushi which would have cost us $80 for two at a very good sushi place in Duluth. Bit last nite $90 with tip for two people at Hacienda. Just the food was $70. Over Christmas my Wife’s brother was here and the Three of us ate at Nuevo Laredo Cantina in Atlanta on Chatahoochee (my opinion best Mexican) and the entire bill with tip was $90. Last nite here at Hacienda I ordered a skirt steak and received a thin piece of shaved beef so thin was almost inedible. They charged me $20 for a steak which I honestly would’ve paid $30 if it was the right steak that they used to serve but then they charge me $15 dollars for the appetizer. The empanadas appetizer changed and they now use a dessert pastry for the shell (less cost less work)Too sweet and the inside was cold and price is $15 for an appetizer??? The Queso Blanco which is always very good was $9 double from this year. We ordered a Coca Cola the price was $3.75 and my Dos Equis was $9. anyway I write this review hoping that maybe they care about their customers and it will elicit change. we have eaten here for date night, I brought the guys to eat here plus my friends and our children when they come in but again at those prices it will be tough...
Read moreFor our weekly #Datenight, my husband and I visited Hacienda Taqueria Restaurant in Lawrenceville. We have been fans of this establishment since its opening a few years ago. We've seen the business grow, remodel, and transform; continuously making improvements to the pleasure and benefit of customers like us. We arrived early in the evening, around 6pm, and were seated right away. Isabella served us. She was a fabulous, driven young lady who shared with us that she is in college, pursuing a degree in biology (with a focus on agriculture). She intends to bring innovation and healthier dining options to the food service industry one day.🙂 Tommy and I had a coupon to use towards our dining order. It stated we'd receive a free meal as a promotion for purchasing a full meal and two drinks. Little did we know that fountain drinks would cost $3.75 each. That's "highway robbery"; seemingly unethical! That's exactly why we typically ask for water only with our meals. We don't often take issue with paying more for a quality meal because we understand all that may go into the process. Plus, we realize we're paying a convenience cost. However, drinks are another story...we object! Needless to say, we didn't save as much as we anticipated or desired. We're happy the food and service made it all worth it. We will consistently support great businesses, as long as it's feasible for us to do. Flavor and presentation are valued here. Portion sizes are very fair too. We started with complimentary chips and house salsa...yum! Following, I had Hacienda Chicken Tacos [on corn tortillas], and Tommy had a queso chicken breast dish...delicious 😋. I should mention that he added bacon to his dish, to the tune of $5 additional...had no idea initially...won't repeat this expensive request again!!! There are great deals offered here during their "happy hour", 2pm-5pm throughout the week....
Read moreThis place is really a special experience. If you're not paying attention, you might miss it. This is true of both the location and the experience itself. Turning left onto Pike Street heading back towards the main road, you can drive right past it and not notice that it's there. Just like when you order your food, thinking you're getting standard local Mexican fair, but end up experiencing something exemplary instead. I ordered the Pollo hacienda, which was a chicken breast steak smothered in cheese sauce with bacon wrapped shrimp on top. That alone sounds pretty amazing, but what really struck me was that it wasn't just grilled chicken with cheese put on for flavoring. The chicken had its own juicy flavor from well balanced seasoning. this was coupled with a cheese sauce that had its own unique flavor, the ingredients of which I was unable to guess at the time. Even the refried beans didn't taste like the standard "it's been pulled out of the can, heated up and put straight on your plate" variety. They had an earlier texture then refried beans I was used to eating. The Margarita menu was fantastic with lots of delicious flavors to choose from. All the way around it was a wonderful experience, and the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. so I would recommend taking the time to savor your meal and enjoy the individual flavors as you're making your way through your savory experience at this restaurant. It seems like other restaurants you've been to before when you walk in, but don't let that fool you. If you take the time to notice the flavors within the food at this restaurant, you will savor the experience that much more, and be very glad that you came here.
Been here several times. Food has always been great. Margaritas are delicious. Staff is friendly and consistent. Definitely worth giving a look. It's become a...
