This place has the worst customer service. I pulled up to the drive thru intercom and the employee came on and said hold on and without even greeting me . She left me on hold for 11 minutes. I kept saying hello just in case she forgot that I was on hold but there was no response. I finally got on Google and found the telephone number to the establishment and gave them a call to let them know that they had me on hold and that there was a long line full of people waiting. The girl on the phone said oh my gosh I didn't know, I forgot. She then came on the intercom and put me right back on hold. Ince again, I waited and nobody ask to take my order. After waiting another 4 minutes, I pulled around behind the car that was at the window and when I got to the window, the lady opened the window and just stared at me. I explained that I needed to place an order and that I had been on hold. She dully apologized, asked what did I want to order and offered me a free soda(which had no syrup in it). The entire experience was horrible, but I really had my mind set on grabbing some hushpuppies to take home.
As an update: I was reached out to by the DM who left a vmail to call the store. I called and spoke to someone by the name of Novian Bell who I assumed to be the store manager. He did apologize for the experience, advised I could come back to get a free meal, wrote my name down and told me to mention his name. I went through the drive thru a few hours after speaking with him to place my order. I did mention his name and that I was told I could get a complimentary meal. The young girl made me repeat 3 times and told me I had to come inside. When I asked why, she said that it would keep me from waiting behind the car in front of me, which made no sense. I told her nevermind I would come back another day because I was on a phone call on my car bluetooth and it was more convenient for me to remain in the car in the drive thru. She then said, "Well we can take the order now." I gave my order, proceeded to the window and she asked me again what my order was. This really frustrated me because my order was given at the call box and this let me know that she did not take my order in the system. A young guy then comes to the window and asks me who did I speak to, my name and told me that they dont hand out free food and had to make sure they were covering themselves. I mentioned the first and last name of the gentleman I spoke to, as well as the district manager who left a voicemail on my phone. I waited for 9 minutes before anyone came back to the window with my food. I ordered a deluxe platter with mac and cheese and loaded baked potatoe as sides. when I got home, the hushpuppies were not given to me (that are included with each meal), the baked potatoe was just that, no toppings, butter, and I was only given 1 piece of fish (2 come with the combo). If you're going to do something, why not just...
Read moreI guess you would call me a regular of Captain D’s and I have been to several locations around the Atlanta area. Let me further state that all Captain D’s restaurants are not created equal. I recently visited the location on Pike and encountered some of the most horrendous treatment from a manager who says she has worked for the food chain over 20 years. I always order the fish platter with fries. Sometimes the fries come out cold, so when I order I always emphasize “May I have hot fries with that order.” On this day the manager took my order. When I received my order after a lengthy wait they were beyond bad and the manager was nowhere to be found. They were replaced with a fresh order after a short wait. I called the restaurant and complained and realized that this was the same person that took the order. A few weeks later I returned and the same manager waited on me. This time her attitude was contentious and hostile. I told her that if she had a problem with me that I could always go to another restaurant. Her response was “Maybe that would be a good idea.” Her rude and abusive behavior did not stop there. When she brought the order it was in a “to go” box. As I tried to sit down and enjoy the meal she constantly continued to accost me as I was sitting with another visitor having a conversation. This behavior continued all the way up to my departure. I am not here to shame anyone but I think there was some implicit bias going on here. I am also a...
Read moreIf I could give a negative number it would be a -5. Horrible! I ordered the catfish FEAST and expected a feast (Silly me). What I received was far from that. 3 catfish strips no more than 3 inches in size each. Came with 3 sides, french fries, Mac and cheese, and green beans. I was given six maybe eight french fries, half a cup of the beans, and a small ice cream scoop of Mac and cheese and spent $13 for this "feast"!!!!! I was in the drive through but I am so glad I checked it out before leaving. I asked to speak to the manager and she gave me 3 more pieces of catfish without any fuss probably because they get complaints all the time. I'm still in shock about the lack of a "feast" this Catfish Feast was.
I know the pandemic has hit us all hard, businesses included, but this was absolutely ridiculous. I read the article/write up about the company and how this particular location was established in 1969 (I believe), well the building looks like there has been no reno or updates since then. I'm just very disappointed as Captain D's used to be one of my favorite restaurants....it's very sad day. 😔
And lastly, it was not just the food that was horrible but the customer service as well. I could hardly understand the young man in the speaker. He seemed like he did not want to be there. The menu board was old and worn out. I could hardly read it as parts of it was faded out. The whole experience was extremely...
