TLDR; pizza is good but rude employees give attitude to customers so don't come here
The pizza is pretty good. I like how crispy the crust is, and you can taste that they cooked it in that fancy oven. But I think the management really needs some work, especially with how the employees treat customers.
I came in at a really slow time, and was the only person at the counter to place my order. Other patrons were seated and it was pretty quiet in the dining area, but the pizza making line was really loud because the workers were busy talking to each other. It took them a good minute to slowly saunter over to get my order, as if none of the five workers could be bothered to step up and help the ONE customer at the counter. The lady making my pizza really took her time, even though I ordered a signature pizza with nothing extra. She was talking to the other two employees at the pizza line as she lazily placed the toppings on the pizza. I was really petty while I waited (lol) so I timed how long it would take her to make that one pizza, and it took a whopping four minutes to complete. That's even BEFORE she put it in the oven.
I waited by the cashier the whole time, and felt really awkward because I was basically ignored by the one guy standing right at the register talking to the girl who was manning the oven. I've been here a handful of times and every time, that guy was the one who checked everyone out, so this is why I wanted to point out that he didn't do anything to help me. FINALLY, the girl who made my pizza came over to cash me out. She still had her gloves on from when she was making the pizza, so it was all oily and had sauce on it, and I thought she would at least take it off before grabbing my card since there were other workers on the pizza making line to help any other customers. But she didn't take off her gloves, and she took my card with her gross gloves and was very abrupt and kind of rude during the whole interaction. I'm still wiping the oil from my greasy card ew
The pizza only took a few minutes to get to my table, and it looked good when it arrived. I said thank you to my waitress even though she basically dropped the pizza plate onto my table with somewhat of an attitude and stomped off without acknowledging me. I was really shocked. Is that why the pizzas are so expensive? Because it comes with a side of attitude? I've been here only a handful of times and really like the pizza, but the employees have always ALWAYS left me feeling like I did something to really inconvenience them, even though I've always ordered the easy signature pizzas. I don't know if they're stressed or they're angry or if they all have something going on in their life to take out against me but it's been consistently rude employees who roll their eyes at me when I come in. The first time I tried Firo's, I didn't know how the menu worked and the girl at the counter seemed really impatient when I tried to be friendly and ask about the menu. She thought I couldn't hear her complain about me to her coworker. Well, I definitely did and it really stung because I've never been the kind of person to purposefully make ANYONE react so mean to me.So many reviews have had good experiences with the employees, so what makes my multiple visits here so consistently bad?? I'm not rude, I try to keep a small presence, and I try to be courteous to everyone. Honestly, I left with a full stomach but a bad taste in my mouth.
Someone also wrote that there was an employee who gave them attitude, and the owner gave a generic response but that review was from 2 months ago yet nothing changed, so I guess the owners don't really care to come down on their rude employees since this place has a good rating. For the price and the behaviors of the employees, I'm sure there are better places. The only good thing going for Firo is that their pizza is decent and they're located next to Starbucks. I don't know what I did to make them treat me like this but I will not be recommending this place just because the workers are so...
Read moreWas in town for a few days gambling, and went with the family to have lunch here. As it was our first time, we were a little surprised when we opened the door and were faced with a long line right across the threshhold, rather than a hostess seating us at a table. We were automatically a little let down, assuming that it was going to be like a Little Caesars type meal. Boy were we wrong. Don't let that line, or any assumptions turn you away, like it almost did us! First of all, the line went super fast - and we realized why once we got to the counter. The ordering process is an assembly style situation about like you would encounter at a Subway sandwich shop, only there are about 3 different employees per person, and they are all working around each other to get people in and out of that line fast. It was orchestrated with precision. The first employee asked what size we wanted and if we wanted a specialty pizza listed on the menu, or a build your own. We chose build your own and then we proceded to the next employee who got our topping selections and quick like lightening made our pizza in front of us. Then the next employee took the pizza from the make counter and popped it on a super long oar (haha) and put it in the brick oven. Thats where yet another employee was just shifting the (many, MANY) pizzas in the oven around to different spots to avoid burning. We then proceded two more steps and paid for our meal, got our number, and then moved on to find a table. So what is that...5 employees we interacted in during the 2 or 3 minutes we were at the front? About 7 minutes later, an employee brought our pizza to us and WOW. It was amazing. The sauch had flavor (unlike many quick style pizza places with rather bland sauce) and the toppings to crust/sauce ratio were fabulous, and that wood fired crust - oh man, it was so good. As we finished up, we all discussed which meal we could skip in order to get to come back. Soon. It...
Read moreBest pizza in town!
I feel like I need to expand on this. It is not only the best pizza in town, it is the best pizza in my life. It's not Domino's. It's not Papa Louie's. Those reviews were a lie. It's Firo. Firo pizza is so good, you just, you have to try it. It's like Subway, but for pizza. You walk along just adding whatever you want, make that pizza your life, or your dream, add ingredients, remove ingredients, it's like Burger King, have it YOUR way. Now I see they have a location coming soon in Texas, no, no, Firo, no. Texas doesn't deserve you. You know who does deserve you? Norman, Oklahoma. Because I moved there and I miss you. I miss you like the deserts miss the rain. I miss you like an idiot misses the point. I miss you like you miss a plane, it sucks, and it's expensive, and you don't know what to do about it. I need you in my life, Firo. I need that Chicken Alfredo pizza. That white sauce, that chicken, that spinach, is it spinach, I think it is, I don't know, I don't care, I need it.
There is not a single place that will bring you a pizza more delicious, more perfect, more amazing than Firo. Nowhere. Nowhere on this gigantic weird earth is there a pizza establishment that will make you happier than Firo. There is no coffee here, coffee and gelato pair well, but there is gelato here, and gelato and pizza pair well. I think. I'm not sure. I am not a food expert. But it's still good.
They have a GIANT PIZZA COOKING THING. They slide your pizza in there, there is FIRE in there. Do you, can you even, like, picture that? It's so big. So. Big. And it makes the pizza so perfect, so delicious, so amazing, so Norman needs one of you Firo it needs you so bad I need you so bad.
10/10 recommend, date night, family night, depressed night, hangover night, you go there, you eat this pizza, and your eyes will open to a whole new world that you never...
