On the positive side, the food portions are large. The service was good enough.
For the negatives:
The beef bulgogi had little to no flavor. I had high expectations with this bulgogi thanks to the several high reviews for this restaurant. The menu itself seems to be all about the bulgogi, so that’s why I picked it. I was extra disappointed because we went out of our way to drive to Lawton to visit the top rated Korean restaurant. I am absolutely not a picky eater but I could not bring myself to finish the meat. We were very disappointed.
They also charge extra for extra sides. If you know anything about Korean restaurants, you would know that these side dishes are famously free refill.
The spicy pork was decent but still not my favorite. The japchae was their best item, but it was one of the sides and not the main item that you can order.
I have been to probably 100 different Korean restaurants in my life and this has got to be one...
Read moreOriginal owners were from Koreatown Los Angeles. My husband and I would drive 60 miles just for some grilled chicken bulgogi, tangsooyook and jjajangmyun because it tasted EXACTLY like Korean food in Ktown LA which is better than in Korea.
There is new ownership since 1st wk of Nov. Food is inedible. Everything is too sweet and the Ajumma cook does not know what she is doing. She came out to greet us and explain that she adapted all her dishes to what Americans like, sweet and fatty. That is not authentic Korean food. She apologized.
Please restore the old menu w/ a master chef because the flavors and quality are not even half of what authentic Korean food should be close to. Ease the transition to a newer more updated menu. Abruptly changing all the dishes overnight and offering less than authentic Korean main dishes is an injustice to the rich culture and flavors of what people are drawn to in...
Read moreThis is our third or fourth time trying to find a good Korean Restaurant. And in my opinion we have! It’s been a journey because I didn’t care for any of the foods. But at Sura Korean Restaurant, 1707 NW Sheridan Rd, EVERYTHING was fantastic. I don’t know the names of the little bowls that come with your order but they were absolutely the best. I had the Beef Bulgogi Rice Hotpot. And then started gobbling up the small dishes that came with my husband’s order. OMGEE! Sooooo yummy. We also had egg rolls and these were not the frozen kind. These were handmade. My husband had a Kimchi pancake. Holy cow it was good. The owners are husband and wife. The husband has been a chef for about 35 yrs. The restaurant is located on the east side of NW Sheridan Rd. and have been in business for6 months and two weeks. Please go and try their cuisine. I think you’ll...
