The Hangout is located in The West Village Plaza off Cache Road. There is a decent amount of parking that can handle the number of customers their establishment can take. I went to eat here during lunch hours, so I have no comment about the evening or nightlife. The ambiance was a tropical theme, while an indoor "garage style" eating area was closed off—great potential for larger crowds. The waitress came over and gave us a menu. Seeing as they recently opened, one would assume no one has been here yet; that being said, she immediately asked us what we wanted and never asked us if we wanted a beer menu or anything like that; not the restaurant's fault, but it is more the server's ability to carry the customer experience. We ordered fried pickles, cheese curds, fried mushrooms, two pizzas, and four different-style burgers around the table to include their sides. The pizzas were excellent and worth ordering again. The hamburgers, however, were very bland and not good. At our table of four, it was a consensus that the burgers were "something else" and tasted awful. Overall, I would say the place is worth going to if you want to grab the pizza, but I would be hesitant to order...
Read moreOk so, I went there tonight with my husband and son to try it out and I was very disappointed. We ordered, a burger w/fries, a 3 piece chicken strip meal w/ fries, cheese curds and a small Hawaiian pizza. Drinks were decent as well as the pizza and fries. The fries were very good, but the cheese curds were burnt and most of them had no cheese in them just breading. So it's safe to call them Air Curds. The chicken strips they brought out were more the size of chicken nuggets. I looked over and a toddlers chicken strip basket had bigger strips then what my husband received. My burger I ordered wasn't cooked all the way through and had red/pink in the middle, the top bun was hard on top and soggy and wet on the bottom. It wouldn't be so bad if we didn't have to pay $45 for what they brought us out as a meal. We ordered the cheese curds (Air Curds) as a appetizer and they were the last item to come out. All and all I give this place a 2 out of 10. We won't be...
Read moreMy husband and I were going to get food and I saw the "The Hangout" and an Open sign. Since neither of us were looking for anything in particular, we decided to pop in and check it. I'm glad we did. We arrived right after a rush so the restaurant was mostly empty except for 5 other tables. We sat at the bar (which had purse hooks, lol). We got cheese curds and jalapeno poppers for appetizers and a sausage calzone and The Hangout Burger for entrees. The appetizers were delicious, crispy, and extra hot straight from the fryer. My husband loved the calzone and the burger was delicious, but needed a little more barbeque sauce. The fries that came with my burger were also tasty and fresh from the fryer. My favorite thing at this place is a cocktail called the Funky Monkey. A sweet, tropical flavour with a lot of buzz! Definitely try this if...
