Burly Burger — Restaurant in Layton

Edited review: After speaking with someone from the restaurant about our experience, they apologized for the poor service and offered something as an apology. We ended up going back and trying again. We had a much better experience with the service. They were polite, helpful, and friendly. I tried one of their salads and I was very impressed with the portions and it was really good! I appreciate a company who wants to try and help if something is not right. I plan to return again and try more items in the menu.

Previous review: We arrived and we were greeted by the cashier who just said “what do you want?” Maybe he had a bad day, no worries there. It took 30 minutes for our food when there was less than 10 people in the restaurant eating. It was super over priced and not super flavorful. They also forgot part of our order and forgot to bring out our shakes. I had to ask to get it brought out twice. My shake had a busted styrofoam cup with the bottom gone and just had another cup put over it. I went to the Layton location, wanting to try something new. My husband and I didn't look over the menu much because we're pretty simple when it comes to what I like on my burger. We ordered our food to go, so we could enjoy it at home. My husband was the first one to bite into his hamburger and realized how undercooked it was. I'm happy he brought it to my attention, as I am very pregnant and would've worried myself sick stressing over the dangers of raw meat during pregnancy. I called, hoping to just get it replaced with a hamburger that was fully cooked, and they told me I should've read the disclaimer on the menu and had no plans to replace it. I've always wanted to eat here and wasted $30 on food; I feel disappointed that they wouldn't replace my food today. I'm shocked they expect you to tell them to cook the burgers to well done and are okay serving a raw hamburger like this, refusing to make things right for us. I will never support a company...

Ordered the classic burger and added bacon and avocado and a small fries. I was disappointed. The burger had potential but lacked in the execution. The bun was a dense bread and was a little soggy from the sauce. Would have been infinitely better if the buns had been toasted on the inside. The rest of the burger was poorly assembled all of the onions were in a clump on one side and the same with the bacon and avocado. Clearly made by someone who was either poorly trained or just doesn’t care about their job or both. Customers shouldn’t have to deconstruct and reassemble their burgers that they are paying a premium price for. Better off going to Red Robin or similar establishment. Also they forgot the small fries I ordered. Overall not a good first impression. Not likely...
