China Fortune Chinese Food — Restaurant in Layton

I had been looking for a new local place to get Chinese food since I decided to boycott Panda Express after years of HORRIBLE service from every location I went to! I love their food, but it's not worth the bad service!

I had been trying places from time to time around the local area and found them all to be kind of "meh" and thought maybe I would just have to have just okay Chinese food from now on, when I noticed this little place off of Hillfield and decided to give it a try!

So glad I did!!! I can only rate what I have tried so far, but I would guess the rest of their food is just as yummy! I got the lunch special Teriyaki fried chicken and subbed lo mein for fried rice, you also get soup, and a fried wonton with it. If you go with the rice option, it is cheaper than Panda Express, if you sub the lo mein like I did, it is apx the same as their "plate" option.

Everything I got was just as good, if not better than Panda Express! You get more food for less then PE for apx the same price, plus the soup and wonton, which PE would charge you extra for!

The staff are friendly, good at their jobs, and the service is FASTER than I have ever gotten in and out of PE (esp the drive through)! China Fortune also has their own drive through, so if you know what you want or have called ahead and are picking up an order, you don't even have to go in!

I really like this place and I am so happy to have found a wonderful Chinese restaurant that I can go to again, and I'd much rather give my money to a local business that treats me well, then some corporation that doesn't see me as a person, just a dollar sign and doesn't care about providing good customer service because they are so large they can stand to loose a customer here and there and not suffer any major losses.

If you're like me and wanting to find an alternative to the corporate guys and support a great local restaurant, give them a try! In closing I also want to add they have the GOOD chopsticks you don't have break apart and always split unevenly! They have the nice ones that are two separate sticks! Their fortune cookies are also the old school ones with REAL fortunes not just generic quotes like, "You are humble and wise", it's an actual fortune! All in all, just a great...

No wonder people getting sick or poisoned food at this place, I never eat here before and I will never eat here in the future cuz I had a chance to visit their kitchen n fridges it's HORRIBLE!! The floor in the kitchen is dirty n filled with trash everywhere. My story is I saw they posted it for sale on ksl and I schedule for viewing the kitchen, long story so make it short! The owner restaurant wanted me to put down my deposit (earnest $) $5k which is no refundable accept if landlord won't assign the lease to me. So the rent+cam+property tax came out $700 more than what they advertised on ksl, so I want my deposit back and now they want to take my deposit due to I back out on the deal , so they sitting on my $ for a month then I threatened them will take them to court n report their realtor to Division Of Real Estate then they give me my full refund. I haven't try their food but I saw the way their kitchen, store their foods I will never want to try!!!

I’m not angry cuz the transaction not fall thru! I’m angry cuz you sitting on my $5,000 for a long time and refused to give full refund. My agent also called your landlord and found out the “secret “ and that’s why I’m out the deal also your landlord won’t accept the offer your realtor put on ksl! I placed an order for 3 people tonight using the door dash app. When it arrived to my home and once we all oped the food containers we first noticed the smell of the noodles were very fowl. The tiny spicy chicken had no flavor what so ever. The egg rolls were terrible as well, and the egg drop soup... only my son tried one bite just to see if it were as bad as everything else... and he said it tasted like salt water. None of the items were continued to be ate due to the fact the items had no flavor or look appeal what so ever. I am being honest here and going out of my way to leave this review because I normally don't leave reviews.... but I want everyone out there to take me very serious when saying that this was by far the worst Chinese food I have ever ate in my entire 46 years of being alive. I would not encourage anyone to go eat there or order out like I did. I tried calling this establishment only to hear it ring about a dozen times before someone seems to pick up the phone and immediately hang up on me on multiple attempts and consecutively which prevents me from addressing the issue with the owner of the establishment so he can either give me an explanation of why the food is prepared like that, or a refund and a promise to change their operational procedures when preparing everyone's food in the future.I would not spend the money here, in fact I would go elsewhere and even pay more money to avoid...
