Green Tree Brewery — Restaurant in Le Claire Township

Located in downtown LeClaire Iowa along the Mississippi,this brewery makes their own beer on site.

You can sit inside or outside and enjoy the views of the Mississippi .

We visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty empty. You seat yourself and order your drinks yourself as well. The place was lacking that comfort feel. Maybe music would help.

We sat inside since it was very warm outside but the inside was loaded with flies..must be the time of year .

I tried their Pitter Patter lager with was very light but refreshing. Only 4.8 ABV.

My wife had their Bloody Mary special which was very good and served with lots of condiments.

Beautiful bar, patio and seating area. Solid service and upbeat beertenders. Decent base beers such as the blond and session ipa. Large tap list. Disappointing quality when you move into the "flavored" beers, especially raspberry and mango. These appear to be extract generated flavors that leave a poor aftertaste. Six of the eight lighter beers suffered the same fate. I chose not to have the darker beers on this visit. Extract beer has a time and place, but it just didn't work here. On the plus side, they had one of the coolest growlers I've even seen for sale. Shaped like a keg and still holding 64oz. Too bad its not doubled walled like...

Walking g along and did this gem Staff was friendly. Place was clean. Outdoor patio had massive picnic tables. We needed up sharing a table with 2 other couples and never once were we in each others way. Great view of the river They let us sample before we bought I had the cherry limeade sour. OMG! Delicious My husband likes stouts. He liked the peanut butter stout. They have an interesting collection of numbered mugs hanging inside. Make sure you ask the staff about them
