We had a very disappointing experience at Desi Hangout today. We ordered Dahi Puri, and it was far too sweet with no balance of other flavors. The roti with paya was another letdown. I’m certain they served frozen chapati it was dry and hard. When I raised this, the staff insisted that it wasn’t frozen but was toasted with ghee. I told him that ghee or butter should actually make the roti softer, not harder, and he had no answer for that. It seemed like they applied ghee just to make it look fresh and soft but it didn’t work. They offered to replace it with a paratha, which I suspect was also frozen, but I didn’t want to argue further.
The paya was overly loaded with masala powder, making it inedible—the worst I’ve ever had. To make matters worse, the area next to the seating is so dusty that the dirt can easily blow into your food. I definitely wouldn’t recommend bringing kids here due to the poor hygiene and the risk of dust getting into their food.
The overall cleanliness was poor dusty benches, unkempt surroundings, It’s surprising that a place like this is allowed to stay in business. I’ve visited many food trucks, but I’ve never encountered anything like this. Save your money and find somewhere else to...
Read moreWe visited yesterday evening and ordered chicken, lollipop, Samosa chat and chicken burger. All the three were below, average in taste and quality. The chicken lolipop was definitely old and was refried. The burger took so long, disappointed to see frozen chicken patty, soggy tasteless burger . We had to throw away because it was not fresh. All of us are down with stomach pain from last night.
I generally take food videos & put it in instagram. but the moment I tasted the lolipop, I was like NOPE… not going to review this place . I hesitate to give negative feedback to food places, because there are good days and bad days for food establishments. but here it is the health concern …that we are sick after eating this food.
The place is pretty cool but food quality is bad . Now hanging out in the toilet after eating this food .
Response to the management -
This is purely my experience & how can you say it’s not fair . Looking at the chicken can tell whether it’s fresh or not. The worst part is how me and my son both are sick eating your food. You have to first improve your quality and hygiene in the kitchen before you rudely respond to your customers. I’m checking all your negative reviews & your rude...
