Best doughnut place in the KCK/KCMO area!

This is sort of an old-fashioned doughnut shop in that it offers pretty much all of the traditional types: Apple fritters, old fashioned/cake, maple bars, and all kinds of filled things. We get the impression that these folks just want to turn out good doughnuts. They always seem to be fresh. I sometimes order a Boston Cream type where the filling tastes very “canned” at some places. Not sure if the filling here is canned or homemade here, but I find it quite good.

I really think that this place shines in two areas. A good selection, and then good tasting doughnuts. The doughnuts themselves are excellent, not just a base for a sugary topping. We find that doughnut shops often simply rely on sugar. Not so here! Lot’s of flavor both in the doughnuts themselves as well as the toppings. Sweet, but not sickenly so.

The service has invariably been excellent. Very pleasant and quick with the orders. Our go-to place for doughnuts.

And, as this is a family owned, “hands-on” business, I don’t mind in the least that they take time off for whatever during the year. These are doughnuts, not heart surgery, and the amazing food and service negate the lack of “corporate” characteristics, such as 325 day-a-year hours. TRY IT....

I am not a donut person. Many ppl around here have said it's great, so I took a chance one morning when I forgot breakfast. Compared to other donut experiences in this county over decades of living here, these have been the freshest/best I have encountered. I ordered an old fashioned, a lemon filled (huge) and I splurged on a chocolate milk.

Was so pleased that I 'forgot' my breakfast the following week and zipped by here again. I got to work and found a few donut holes added to my bag!

My inner "Wilford Brimley" was energized!

It's perfectly located in an old Sonic drive-in on the east side of the road, as most people are heading north on their way to work - you don't have to cross traffic to exit during rush hour! You can even park and go inside to order, not just use the drive-thru. The ONLY negative I can say is that the parking lot is typical Leavenworth County standard, which is HORRIBLE! But I won't let that detract from the food and...

Only reason why I gave it 3 stars is because I purchased a half dozen donuts (which where good by the way) threw the drive thru she told me 7.65 I handed her a twenty she handed me back 7.00 dollars even! but to me the math ain’t math’n I should have been given back 12 and some change! now I seen they little too jar on the counter inside I understand people leave you tips but you shouldn’t feel obligated to take your own tip out you let me make that choice or not to leave a tip and let me determine how much that tip is granted that few dollars is nothing to some people but it’s rhe principle of it now what if I had been a “Karen” you would have been put on blast on social media and somebody would be acting crazy at your establishment so I feel like y’all need to re-evaluate your business practices taking out your own tip cause some people won’t be...
