This place was probably one of my worst experiences for an "Inn". Now don’t get me wrong, had I stayed 1 or 2 days, then I probably would have rated them a 3 or 4 out of 5. But over my 3 weeks stay with my wife, every week got progressively worse than the last.
I have to give it to them, at least they tried… tried and failed miserably. The staff seemed courteous enough, but when asked to deal with issues within our room they assisted half-heartedly, if they even came by to do the task at all. Even rudimentary jobs seemed to be missed. Example: When they came by to “clean the room” they would merely change the towels and take out the trash. About 50% of the time they would forget about the towels and I would have to go downstairs to ask for them just to be greeted with a confused grimace.
And if that wasn’t enough the walls between rooms next to us and above us are extremely thin. We would hear the kids slamming and dropping things, screaming and banging on the walls. I notified the staff at least 3 or 4 times with no remedy. By the way, we weren’t the only ones to complain.
On top of that, my wife and I kept getting bitten and stung by something and only while we were sleeping. My wife had more serious reactions to them than I, we have pictures, and the last bite was the last straw. I had already asked 3 days prior for them to either move us to another room on the top floor in a corner and if there wasn’t anything available then at least come by and do a thorough cleaning and let the noisy neighbors know to quiet down. No extra rooms were available.
The staff told me someone would come by ASAP and vacuum, clean and replace bed sheets, as well as, remind the room next to us that they need to keep it down. And yup, you guessed it, the noise kept on happening, getting worse at times. On top of that, the cleaning crew only replaced the towels and MADE THE BED! No vacuum, no cleaning and didn’t even replace the bed sheets like I asked… nothing. If you’re lost, that was 3 days prior to me walking back down to talk to them again.
On my way down, I was trying to think of what to say without coming off rude, disrespectful or angry. So, I made sure I was calm before I talked to the front desk clerk. She ended up getting the manager who told me that someone would stop by to do an inspection, as well as, “clean the room” and replace the bed sheets. Ok at this point I was skeptical, but the bedsheets were changed and floor by the bed vacuumed. They never went into the bathroom to do any cleaning, my wife had to ask them again to sweep the floor in the bathroom before they did. From my wife’s point of view, the staff seemed irritated and annoyed. Also, no one came by for an inspection. (Not sure what the protocol is for that)
Outside of that, at least the breakfast was free. It wasn’t all that good, but at least free. My wife and I don’t expect much, I figure that they would have different protocols for people staying long term, especially since it was being paid for, but it didn’t seem like it.
In the end I give this hotel/inn a 1 out of 5. If you only stay for 1 or 2 days, I can see a 3 out of 5 since you wouldn’t necessarily experience...
Read moreIf I could leave zero stars I would. I was very disappointed with my stay in Leavenworth. From the rude front desk woman who could barely force a smile while she checked me in to the sticky carpets, dirty appliances, air filters, toilet, and duvets; this experience wasn't pleasant. I wasn't going to make a big deal about it but i noticed a $250 charge added to my debit card. I thought maybe it was just the normal pre authorization fee but it was never refunded to my account. When I called and asked why I was charged $250 extra for my unpleasant stay at Hampton Inn Leavenworth, a different front desk employee informed me that my room had a smell of smoke and evidence of smoking, which forced housekeeping to do extra cleaning on this nasty room. I patiently waited 5 minutes on hold to speak with a manager, the employee refused to let speak with a manager, and told me that he would send me a picture of the evidence proving that I smoked in the room. I wasn't even able to leave a voicemail with management. I don't understand how management can charge me $250 for "smoking" in their nasty room without even contacting me. This Hampton location was very unprofessional with the rude staff, disgusting rooms, and managements refusal to communicate why they are stealing $250 from customers who already overpaid for their...
Read moreVery nice looking place. I was impressed with how the rooms looked. However looks can be deceiving. I stayed two nights, Friday October 15th and Saturday October 16th. Friday night I found a roach crawling on the wall. At first I figured ok gross but it is getting cold and bugs are moving in. Saturday morning though we woke up and I found a bed bug crawling on the bed right next to me. We started inspecting the mattress and found more. We also found a bunch of hair, dirt and trash. My boyfriend went down to the front desk and brought someone up to show them everything. They were very quick to get us into another room and inspected it before we went in. I was impressed at how quickly and kindly they reacted. I however was not at all impressed with the manager. My boyfriend went down to return the room keys to the infested room and the manager says to another employee, "makes you wonder if people do that kind of stuff just to get a free room." She then goes on about now she has to call corporate. First of all the room was a gift to me from my uncle for my birthday. Second, he reserved it using his points. Either way no money was exchanged for the reservation. I make a lot of trips to Leavenworth and had hoped that I had found a good hotel to use for every visit but now I'm...
