TL;DR I wouldn’t recommend bringing PCs (or computers in general) to this place
I brought my gaming PC to this location because it wouldn’t turn on after I tried installing an extra fan. I knew CPR mostly did phone repairs, but they advertised that they were capable of working on computers, so I expected them to be capable of figuring out what was wrong with it at the very least. So I brought it in, and the gentleman at the counter said that they would see what they could do. They charged me $54 and some change to look at it and I left the PC with them. 24 hours later, I call them to see if they had figured anything out. No one picked up the phone, but I received a text from CPR a few minutes later that told me they were still looking at it and that their supposed “computer guy” would give it an extra look before the end of that day. I was fairly confused why it would take this long to figure out a computer issue, but I took their word for it and waited another day. I call them the next day, and someone picked up the phone this time. The person on the phone told me that they couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it, and that they would recommend taking the entire PC apart and putting it back together again. I was obviously confused and disappointed with this “diagnosis,” so I asked for a refund once I came over to pick my PC up. The person at the desk then went on to explain how they couldn’t because the $54 was a labor fee. He compared it to how car repair places charge fees.
I think it is absurd for a place like this to advertise computer repair services only to show that they are incapable of even figuring out what the issue is with a computer. I would have understood if they told me that they couldn’t work on my computer up front if they weren’t capable of doing it. But instead of doing that, CPR decided to waste both my time and my money without any sort of compensation for their incompetence. If you live in Leavenworth, I think you are better off going to any of the other repair shops in town before CPR. You’re also better off taking the extra time to drive to Micro center if you were having computer...
Read moreI did not have my phone repaired here due to several factors, but wanted to mention that Jon (the person who I worked with) was extremely helpful and patient. Ultimately, I did not have phone repaired (screen flickering, then went completely black) due to model (S7), even though phone was purchased only a yr ago and due to Samsung no longer supporting the S7. Jon took considerable time to try and diagnose the root cause, but there was not an apparent culprit. I've actually had 3 different S7's in last 4 yrs, and all have had same issue. After more research, and learning the S7 has not been manufactured in a least 2 yrs, and other potential issues, I decided to upgrade to new model and hope for better outcome.
Jon was VERY honest about all aspects of the repair and potential future outcome, and would have had it repaired there if not for the other S7 issues mentioned above. Jon even took the time to help me identify a good alternative to purchase, that would be similar to the S7 and still semi-affordable, which I did end up purchasing. I should also mention, there was NO CHARGE for Jon's time to diagnose the phone and provide all of the valuable information!
Bottom line: I'm not sure of Jon's role (Owner, Mgr. etc.) at this location, but he should be considered invaluable to the operation, he is a consummate professional! And no, I am not related to and do not know Jon, but it's rare to find genuinely honest people, much less in retail, who truly care about helping the customer - even if it means advising them of a decision that would cost them a sale or a repair. If you live ANYWHERE in the KC metro area, and a have a phone issue, it's worth your time to go to CPR in Leavenworth and...
Read moreI wish I had come here first! Michael and Zach are awesome!
After running over my iPhone 11 with my car, I couldn’t unlock my screen! No big deal, I have iCloud and my phone has been backing up every time I’m charging it and connected to Wi-Fi, right? Nay, nay! But I’ve trusted my computer and can back it up that way, right?! Nah. So surely if I call apple they can help, right?!? No! No they can’t! But they can waist my entire day having me talk to 4 different reps and tell me that it’s actually hopeless but if I send them my phone they can fix my screen AFTER THEY WIPE IT!!! (Though I explained to everyone that I spoke with that at&t had already sent me a new phone and the only value to me about this phone is what is on it(ie. pictures of the first year of my daughters life!!!!). I was pretty sure the rep on the phone was lying when she told me a third party repair shop would have to wipe it too.
Thank God I came to cpr! They plugged a screen in for me so I could unlock my screen and do a backup! If I had listened to apple I would have lost all the precious picture and videos from...
