Pretty good food and atmosphere. Fantastic service. Very poor selection of real beer for a "pub" but a few drinkable choices....You wanted suggestions. To keep it local is fine, here are a few that would help:
Torn Label Brewing Company Alpha Pale 5.5% ABV; 80 IBU; Lots of Hops A sessionable beer for hop-heads, this lower abv pale is hopped to the max with juicy pacific northwest hops.
Boulevard Brewing Co Space Camper Cosmic IPA Space Camper Cosmic IPA is an exhilarating initiation into a mind-bending alternate universe of India Pale Ales. Our brewers employ massive hop additions at the end of the boil, and during fermentation, to minimize upfront bitterness and create a juicy IPA bursting with tropical fruit flavors and aromas of nectar and citrus.
Heavy Lifting IPA West Coast Style India Pale Ale Heavy Lifting is our newest year-round beer based on our popular Tasting Room beer Mid-Coast IPA. Mid-Coast became a favorite among hopheads for its big, bold hop presence. Heavy Lifting takes that legacy further in fine style, exploding with flavor and a huge helping of five remarkably zesty and piney hops.
80-Acre Hoppy Wheat Beer American Pale Wheat Ale With roots in two of today's most popular brewing styles, 80-Acre Hoppy Wheat Beer is the result of careful cultivation by our brewers and cellarmen. Their efforts to craft a hybrid yielded a bumper crop of flavor; a delightfully distinctive ale with the aroma of an IPA and the refreshing taste of...
Read moreWe went there around 11:30 on a Sunday. It was a Chiefs game day, so they we busy. The tv volume was full blast.
No one came to seat us for at least 10 minutes or let us know if we should seat ourselves. Then the lady who sat us was short with us and told us to âgo sit in that booth thenâ and pointed towards a table.
We just assumed they were busy and the waitress who actually served us was polite but she was obviously overworked. We saw her three times during our lunch. Despite how busy they were the food came out fast.
After waiting at least 5 minutes to get menus. We ordered a pretzel appetizer, the sliders, and the roast beef dip. One of two drinks we had came back wrong.
The pretzels were great but the cheese for them was ice cold, and the spicy mustard never came.
One of my husbands sliders had blood/raw meat on the bun but wasnât bloody inside. So where did that come from?
The meat on my French dip/beef dip was completely dried out and flavorless. It was also cold, the cheese wasnât even melted. My fries were cold, brown, and soggy when served to us. I couldnât eat anything.
We tried to flag down the waitress but she was too busy with 2 tables of at least 12 each and another maybe 5-7 tables that were all hers so after waiting 15 minutes to get her attention about the cold food and disgusting sandwich/burger we just paid and left. We will not...
Read moreWe have a regular Friday night group and this last weekend we changed things up a bit and met at the Windy City for dinner and drinks. The wife and I had nachos and stuffed pickle appetizers. The pickles were really good and the nachos not bad, but I've had better (the only reason I didn't score this a five star). The key for us was the server. She happens to be from Chicago and is she ever a blast! Treated us great, laughed with us, and overall made the night! As for our dinner, my wife had the reuben sandwich and I had the Italian beef combo... All I can say is they give old Portillo's a helluva a run for their money! Both sandwiches were top notch and worth every penny. I think the owner was there as well, and he made everyone he spoke to very comfortable and seemed to really care that we were getting treated right. If you should decide to stop by, ask our Chi-Town girl for some sauce! She'll know exactly who sent-cha! 'sauwce'! Good times, good...
