Fritz's Smoked Meats and Superior Sausage Co — Restaurant in Leawood

I walked in as a first timer and started browsing while a gentleman helped the lady who walked in ahead of me. There was an additional employee behind the counter who just sort of stared at me without saying a word as I looked around. A third employee comes out from the back and asks if i could be helped, in which I responded with placing my order. They had just run out of what I asked for so he had to run to the back and unpack a new box which was going to take a few minutes, so I continued browsing again, while looking back at the counter every so often to see if the man had returned with my links and weighed and packaged them. After about 5 minutes, I turn just in time to see the original lady who stared at me silently when I walked in just flailing her arms and pointing at me as if to notion to her coworkers that she was in awe that I would be looking around for something else to buy (which I did end up doing). She rang me up and the only words out of her mouth were "anything else?", the total, & a sarcastic "have a good one ".

Now I don't know if this lady was just having a bad day, so I'm going to go back because we have all been there before. However, If I owned the place I would want to know about things like this.

The sausage was pretty darn good, so this will easily be changed to a 5 star if my next visit is a better experience. Otherwise Fareway Market ...

I just discover Fritz today (even though I drive around that area almost weekly for grocery shopping). When I ordered, I asked for the beef sandwich after a customer told me the sandwiches are big. The lady at the counter said the beef are made like briskets, which sold me even more on it. It was just $6. I did not get any fries since they said it would take 15 minutes and I was to hungry to wait. The ones I seen done looked really good. Leaving without that is my biggest regret. Everything was done very quickly (ordering my food, getting my food, checking out and get my drink). It had to be about 7 minutes I've been in there.

My thoughts on the beef sandwich:

They gave me a lot of meat on my sandwich. To tell the truth, I was a little scared at first because I am used to BBQ restaurants giving me fatty meat (even the so-called best ones). I did not have that issue at this restaurant. The meat was tender and juicy with no fat. It's the type of sandwich made for a hungry person.

I will love to go back next time...

I referred my friend here because I have had good experiences but this is her Bad Experience 1st and Last time she will go here and I will definitely never refer anyone else.

. Just a little FYI. I purchased 40 lbs of wings from restaurant depot. I took them to Fritz on 103rd & Stateline to have them smoked to celebrate my mom's 87th birthday. When I went to pick them up they gave me thighs. I had my little white tag that had wings written on it from when I dropped them off. They were saying the lady that works there wrote it down incorrectly on my receipt. The little white tag had my phone number on it if they had opened up the box and found thighs they should have had the courtesy to call but they didn't they just stole the 40 lb of wings. I'm just saying when you make a purchase and you're taking your stuff somewhere else to have something done take pictures so that you have proof. This is a lesson well learned for me. Never again. A well know company Scam...
