SALTY B's--should think about modyifying their name. Perhaps, a random sample of their own food will enlighten them. Last visit was for lunch, and initially, I left an excellent review on Yelp. This visit was awful. Food, drinks and server. Strange to give them 4-5 stars last year and now this. FOOD: Agusta Chicken was cold and almost inedible because of the sodium level. He doesn't like to send things back, scraped all the sauce off, gave me a sample and it was -still so salty (& I love salt!!) Plus he was hungry. My Marsala Chicken was nice and hot, but super salty too. Neither of us detected the Marsala and later joked how the sauce was made w/ beef boullion cubes. DRINKS: We started off with Pomegranate Martinis. Awful 'Martini' Syrupy sweet and thick- viscous consistency barely cold, clearly not a martini. I had two sips, and pushed to the edge of the table. Husband did the same, reluctantly he said it was "kind of gross" not wanting to shed any negativity. SERVER: Disconnected and mostly just going through the motions. Like 'Who had the chicken?' (we both did, and she set the plates down randomly) Server knew we didn't care for our Martinis, but never once asked us 'why', instead choosing to let them sit there, the entire time we dined. She did ask if he (husband) wanted a beer, to which he said 'No, thank you' and didn't bother to circle back to me, to ask if I wanted anything else.(?) In aticipation of our meals, we later asked for a glass of wine and a cup of coffee. Servers' timing was uncomfortable, hovering around, when I packed up my left overs, she stood there at the table, apparently waiting for me to hurry and pack up my food "Just want to take some empty plates" she said (unsure what she was thinking, awkward again) OUR TAKE AWAY: $100* for overly salted food, poorly made drinks and oblivious server. Please, just DO BETTER.....,BE BETTER, Wednesday night team! what a let down this was.

Someone local recommended this place to us, and unfortunately, it didn't live up to their hype. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had a salad bar. It was fresh even though it wasn't a large salad bar. The salad dressings were also housemade and very good. I ordered the Beef Stoganoff and my mom ordered the Chicken on the Row. When the food came to the table, it looked delicious. Looks can be so deceiving. As soon as I started trying to cut the beef with a case knife, I knew there were issues. It was supposed to be BEEF TENDERLOIN. You should never have trouble cutting beef tenderloin with a case knife. The meat was basically inedible. After I salted the rest of the dish twice, the pasta was good. But I didn't pay $20 for a bowl of pasta. The waitress did offer to ask if they would take it off of the bill, but I don't go places to do that. My mom's dish was supposed to be ricotta stuffed shells with spinach artichoke dip. The chicken breast was with peppers, onions and mushrooms on top. When it came out, it was more like a chicken cutlet, and it was very overcooked. The shells were good, but the two components didn't seem to go together. We got there at about 3pm. Two ladies came in and were seated beside us about 20-30 minutes after us. One of them ordered the same dish as my mom did. It looked completely different. The chicken breast was actually a breast, and looked like it should! My mom's was probably held over from lunch service and it showed. We weren't impressed and we won't be back. Our waitress was sweet and did a good job.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sammy B’s, and I must say, my experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for a delightful evening. The customer service was truly top-notch. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, making sure our glasses were always filled and our needs were promptly met. They took the time to explain the menu with enthusiasm and offered great recommendations, showcasing their extensive knowledge of the dishes. It was clear that the staff genuinely cared about our dining experience. Now, let’s talk about the food! Each dish we ordered was a masterpiece. We started with a Caesar salad and a house salad, which both were a perfect balance of flavors with their house-made dressings. For the main course, I opted for the Wild Alaska Sam-un, perfectly cooked and served with a delightful sweet glaze that elevated the dish to new heights. My dining companion chose the Augusta Chicken, which was melt-in-your-mouth tender and full of rich flavor. Dessert was the grand finale. We shared the scrumptious homemade peach cobbler, paired with homemade vanilla ice cream. It was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. Overall, Sammy B’s exceeded our expectations with its excellent customer service and amazing food. We left feeling satisfied and eager to return. If you're looking for a place that combines a warm atmosphere with culinary delights, I highly recommend giving this restaurant a visit!

Saturday night dining at Sammy B's. Not as pleasant as I would have liked. The atmosphere is noisy but nice decor. We got the unfortunate seating by a door that people were using to go in and out to the bar. It was cold outside and people were smoking on top of that. So the cold air and smell of smoke kept rushing in. The area carried voices well, so you almost have to yell to talk at your own table. They were busy, not surprising. So we expected a delay and slow cooking times. So average on the service. The food wasn't hot. I ordered the chicken on a row. Chicken was very tasty but a little tough. Not as tender as I would have liked. The stuffed shells were very good. The salad came in a bowl that was too small to do anything with. It came in a basket lined with paper and a biscuit. I ended up dumping it out of the bowl into the basket. The greens were plenty and fresh, but would have preferred more tomatoes and cucumbers. I would suggest a Julian style cut for the cucumbers if they insist of using that tiny bowl. and, add a few other things to bring it to life. boiled eggs, mushrooms, cheese. Something that keeps it from being bland. My wife had the fish and chips. Lots of shoestring fries, The fish was lacking a bit and got lost in the breading. Fish is suppose to be thick and flaky with a little bit of batter. That way the fish is the main feature. But in this case the fries won that out. My mom got the fried fish sandwich. Now she is a tiny person, they gave her two thick slices of french bread for the bun that again was thicker than the fish. The fish itself was prepared perfectly. Thick meat with a thin breading over it. If they would have sliced just the top bread in the sandwich, that would have been enough. Otherwise the sandwich was way to big and too much bread. She had sweet potato fries on the side which she said were awesome. I saw plenty of items on the is menu that I would like to try. Overall, I am not thrilled with the service, but as I said busy night. Noise level and the constant people going in and out by our table. Smoking out the door. Made for an unpleasant evening. This place is a little pricey, but they have a great menu to back that up. I recommend you try this place at the very least 3 times. Find one during the busy time, one in the slow, and one in the average range. Order separate foods each time to get the variety of the types of foods and sit in three different areas. You will find that if the atmosphere is pleasing you can concentrate more on the enjoyment of your food. I have only been here once. So, i marked it based on that experience. I am very sure you will get better experiences on other than Saturday nights when Christmas parties are going on. As I said, its a bit pricey but...

I’ve Eaten at Sammy B’s before and the food was great. However, this time I would like to comment about the aesthetics, staging and the accessibility of the restaurant.

My spouse is an amputee, an above the knee amputee so it makes it very difficult for him to walk. With Sammy B’s there’s only one handicap parking spot in the front, and the rest are in the back. The worst thing about the ones in the back is that you have to walk a slight incline for the entire length of the restaurant to get to the front door. This is a struggle bus ticket for the mobility challenged and I’m surprised no one has told you, we don’t want that ticket-we just want a smoother ride to the front door. Sammy B’s, I highly suggest that you take those parking spaces that are adjacent to the patio that we jealously walked past and make those into handicapped parking spaces. This will show that you take those with mobility issues into account and not turn parking into a sweepstakes that very few will win.

This time we went on Valentine’s Day and we did not have a reservation. Of course, that is our fault. On the other side of the coin though, do not punish patrons who do not have a reservation by placing them next to the Patio door that keeps opening and closing with people entering and exiting when it’s 20° outside. we were only served a water and we had to wait for five minutes for our waitress to return. Needless to say she returned to an empty table because we were so cold and that we up and left. We tried to wait for her to return to be polite but we came to have a warm meal, not turn into popsicles. Sammy B’s, I’m making another suggestion: close that damned patio door when it’s so cold outside because no one wants to sit inside of a restaurant, wear their coat because they’re freezing, and leave because the experience was unpleasant just waiting to take your order. Bad form, bad planning, on both our parts.

We love your food. We love your ambience. We do not love your staging in the winter. Again, this one rating is because of your lack of planning for the handicapped and for seating people at an open door in the throes of winter. We will not be back until the...

I wasn't sure how my parents, my daddy's service pup, two teenagers & I were going to spend our Easter. I am battling cancer, and unfortunately I was very sick for three days before Easter, forgetting it was Easter weekend. I woke up Sunday morning, praying I could find a location that could fit us in that had seating for us and would allow my daddy's Service doxie. I called two places. No answer at either.......that was until one of the two redialed my number back, saying they missed my call. His name was Dustin! The kindest, most gentle hearted sole I have ever spoken to on the phone. Without trying to go into much detail, I tried to explain my situation. Dustin stopped me and said, "Ma am, we will make room for your family. How many? What time would be best for you? You take your time. We will make Easter Sunday memorable for y'all." I hung up in tears. We made the almost hour drive to Sammy B's. My daddy is 84, my momma 80, two teenagers, Willow & I. We didn't even sit in the waiting area, there was a table ready right by the beautiful salad bar!!! We had an amazing waitress, she was so kind, smiling, always checking on us and so accommodating. I personally was so happy, they serve the best Southern Sweet Tea! 😊 Their menu is incredible!! My family all enjoyed what we ordered, to include the amazing desert choices. The atmosphere all around us, the history about the building is simply breathtaking, Dustin is the MOST AMAZING ANGEL ON EARTH, the Manager, whom I believe is the owner is the most beautiful lady, kindest, sweetest, and most gentle spirit there is!! I know for my family, we will never forget Easter 2025 at Sammy B's. They made our hearts whole, gave me reasons to smile, and helped me to remember what Easter is all about! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your kindness, your amazing food, your hospitality, the cleanliness of your restaurant, the entire staff for being so wonderful and for reminding me that during this nightmare I'm facing, there are always reasons to face our tomorrows. The...
