So good we came back twice in our 4 days vacation at the Berkshires. The octopus and beef heart in anticucho sauce is sublimal. If you're wary of the original beef heart, their fusion version with octopus is just as good if not better. The green sauce and anticucho sauce is such a great combo.
Seafood and fish a la macho with the creamy yellow sauce was so amazing we got it twice. Fried fish with sauteed seafood mix drenched in peruvian yellow chili sauce with rice. You can't go wrong with any saucy dish of Peru.
The cilantro green chicken soup is comforting in a cold a day. But the star soup is the fish soup that I've never seen before. Omg.. The fish consomme with fresh chunks of silky halibut was to die for. Very big portion.. Meant for a meal. The only thing I wished I omitted was the pasta since I had it as an app. It also had rice too.. It's a meal in itself.
The c seafood paella is not your traditional spanish paella in a pan so don't expect that. But this was the most luxurious version I had. Looked like a giant pile of rice with few seafood on top, until you bite into every scoop of the rice there is calamari blended and scattered throughout the rice! Every bite is a surprise! I like the peruvian dash of pickled red onion and dash of fresh salsa. No burnt rice here like that of a paella pan -whether that a plus or not.
Chicha morada.. Get a pitcher.
Pisco sour so so. Grilled Steak not my thing but the plaintains it came with.. omg. The lomo saltado night be a better choice.
Just go!...
Read moreLost in the sauce - Visiting from NY my husband and I went to Alpamayo Peruvian Restaurant for dinner looking for a little culinary adventure. The restaurant is modestly decorated and the smells of the food in the air were delightful. Our waitress was curteous and helpful in answering our questions and made a good suggestion for steak. I really should have listened to her. I was in the mood for seafood so I went for the shrimp and fried fish (pescado a la macho) with a medley of shrimp, calamari, mussels and clam with the cream sauce. Sounds good right? I really wish I could say I loved it, but the cream sauce was just too much and a bit on the salty side. The balance ratio between sauce and rice couldn't save the dish. Too little rice, too much sauce. The cream sauce was favorful, salty, thick, almost like a seafood chowder but it over powered the favor of all the other items especially the fried fish which is what I was looking forward to and could barely taste because of the cream sauce. My husband had the peruvian rotisseie chicken and liked it. I had a bite and thought it was tasty but a hair over cooked so it wasn't as juicy or fresh tasting as I've had from other Peruvian...

I really enjoyed this restaurant! It’s located in the down town strip. Small place but has enough seating. We found the establishment clean and the server was friendly and attentive.
Great food. I had the chicken soup and it may be the best I’ve had. I also had the steak with a fried egg and fries. Also very good. The meat was well seasoned and cook how I asked. The menu was marked with GF options. Thanks!
It’s a family friendly restaurant and very likely to be LGBTQ friendly, given the town it’s in. Gender neutral rest room. Also a mobility friendly place.
Stop in. It’s...
