ICHIBAN BUFFET — Restaurant in Leesburg

On 11/5/23 , my wife and I went to this location for a nice meal thinking nothing of it, price wasn’t too bad for dinner plus the drinks . Upon our dismay there was items that were not hot , tasted bitter , or just didn’t look appeasing . The guy refilling the stations were taking food that was dropped on the bar area , putting back into the food it belonged too so disgusting not knowing how long it’s been sitting there or if it was touched by other people or food particles. We tried to enjoy our meal thinking nothing of it but shortly after we departed the restaurant my wife got violently sick . I had to pull over into a grassy area in the parking area and she got out of the vehicle and vomited a lot ; this went on for at least a good hour or two when we got home before it settled down . Something she ate at this location was not sitting well with her nor was it very pleasant to know she almost went to the ER because she couldn’t stop vomiting ruining our night . I will not be going back to this place or recommend at all. Later the same evening I myself began getting sick as well which was a total disaster we both were fine prior to getting there . We both had the stuffed oysters which my wife said tasted funny after she swallowed it and mine did as well we had to keep washing it down with water to get a bitter and nasty taste out of our mouths . The sushi we both had and was very disappointed in the texture and taste which makes me believe it had to be these two items . Would highly suggest to stay away from this place unless you want food poisoning like my wife and I got . My husband loves to come here. The most recent time the waitress literally told us how much tip she wanted which was $10. Our bill was $40. We are generous tippers as it is, when service is exceptional we tip more. This was a huge turn off for me. I was a waitress before and would never dare ask for a certain amount of tip. I literally just wanted to tell my husband to not tip at all. She never offered refills until the very end when she brought the check. We did leave her a tip but honestly don’t think of coming back.

EDIT We tried the place one last time. (2 adults 3 kids ages 11-5-3) they brought us a bill of $85 even. Just the price nothing else. My husband didnt look at it and gave them the card. When they run the card he realizes we are being charged $85 when we usually pay 60-70. I asked the server for a breakdown. They ran around like headless chickens trying to pull something ASAP so that i could stop questioning. She brought in a reciept (photo) with an absurd breakdown which totaled 83ish and not the $85. I did point out we were 5 people and not 6 (bcus of drink charge) again she walked away and brought $4 in change and handed it to me acting like it was an honest mistake. I was very upset at this point because i can only imagine how much people they have ripped off doing this. I paid and walked out. Getting home i realize they charged me for a big (7-10yo) dinner for my two smallest kids. Some people may say its not big deal but we were definitely overcharged $10-15. I found a large variety of good food. However, some food was cold, some burnt and dry. We have been coming here since it opened. At one time there was a quality control of taste and foods were at proper temperatures. Unfortunately our last few visits were very unpleasant. Not only was the food cold, I complained to the manager so nobody would get sick. I spoke nicely. Well, some sort of bomb went off from the manager. She took a simple statement that the foods were not cold, and started screaming I am a liar. Over and over she kept saying the food is not cold, I am a liar. Wow, what a way to behave to customers that spoke nice. It did not stop there. She followed us out of the resturant, screaming in my face over and over that the food is not cold and I am a liar. I was too stunned at her behavior to speek. I was on a walker, and I felt like I was going to fall the way she was screaming right in my face. I kept walking to get out the door and outside. She followed me and started to take photos of me and the car screaming that I am a trespasser and she is going to call the police to keep us away. Now I ask you, what do you think? I have never heard or expierenced anything like this before. We just paid for our food. Didn't ask for anything. Didn't expect anything. How is that make us a trespasser. Again I say, all over a nice tone of a statement that the food was cold? We will never go back to be treated that way, nor anyone we know.
