The space is nice. The decor is nice. After mentioning this was our first time here, ordering still felt rushed. The food was just ok because we did not enjoy the cut of chicken given but the flavors were nice. That herb lemon vinaigrette, the fries and the toasted pita strips were tasty and the server that brought our meal seemed kind. The worst part of this experience was the overwhelming and pungent aroma of the cashiers cologne. The smell was INCREDIBLY LOUD that it ruined the eating experience for me. Now the taste of the food is associated with that and I will never patron this restaurant again. There’s no reason for the smell of cologne to permeate a room like that, much less, why a person feels the need to wear THAT MUCH in an eating establishment is beyond me. If it were not cold we would have taken the food to the outside seating area. I almost threw up the 1/3 of the meal I was able to get down. No one in our party finished their food. Turn it down. Even being the furthest table away did not help unfortunately because they walked past several times to clear the only table behind us and I just couldn’t take it any longer. I’m not writing this review for the promised baklava. After spending over $50 for my family to eat here I’m disheartened, I waited a few days to write this review to see if my mind would change, it did not. The most pleasant and joyous part of this dining experience was the perfectly crisp Cherry Coke from...
Read moreExcellent staff, excellent service, excellent food! I came in on a Saturday night, which may not be the best time if you're on a time crunch. They were packed! They had a lot of people also order for takeaways. When the weather gets nicer, they would, no doubt, be even busier. There are several tables and chairs inside as well as an outside dining area. I think they would need a bigger space for the warmer weather when everyone usually goes out to eat!
With a packed place during busy hours, it can get quite noisy, especially if there are children there as well. I haven't been when it's not quite as packed, so will update when I get a chance to experience at a less busy time. For diners with children, there is an area right by the kitchen, I think, where children can draw on the walls. For big groups of diners, they have some games for while you wait for your food or just to entertain in general.
Now to the food: Mediterranean cuisine is one of my favorite cuisines, and Spitz flippin delivered on the flavors!!!! I ordered a Remix Bowl Combo with chicken and rice and a side of sweet potato waffle fries. The flavors were perfect! The portion, I think, is a healthy portion, but I would've liked a bigger portion. the waffle fries were perfectly seasoned and crunchy.
I would definitely be coming back. this is the Mediterranean spot I've been...
Read moreI visited Spitz recently based on a recommendation. I ordered The Berliner Doner Wrap with beef and lamb as the protein choice, with a side of fries, and for dessert, I ordered the Baklava Nut Roll. As for the doner wrap, I'm not sure if their meat was prepared and actually sliced freshly as the traditional method for gyros or doners within their restaurant with the use of a vertical rotisserie, as they all seemed quite uniform within the wrap and the kitchen/prep area was not visible. (I believe many grocery stores sell these pre-cut slices of doner style meat as well recently. I'm not saying these were for sure what was used, but it did remind me of the store-bought kind). I also found the wrap to be a little on the salty side, but overall, it tasted good with a great balance of ingredients. The fries were fresh, served with a tasty dipping sauce. The Baklava Nut Roll for dessert seemed to be stale and maybe not as fresh, so it did not stand out to me in terms of flavour. Friendly service, nice/cute restaurant atmosphere which was also clean, located within a great shopping plaza at...
