Bonchon Leesburg — Restaurant in Leesburg

DO NOT GO TO THIS BONCHON! SAVE YOUR MONEY! I don’t typically write reviews but I had to since it was so disappointing. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Chicken is not double fried and does not have that extra crispy, airy batter that they are known for. The wings are usually huge and this place uses wings that a typical American bar uses. You are paying the same prices as high-quality BONCHONs but getting less.

Kimchi fried rice was so bland. Coleslaw was old. The only thing that was normal was the french fries. Sterling location is not good but dang, this one beats it as it was worse!

Annoying that since BONCHON is a franchise, there should be consistency in the quality of food no matter what location but that is NOT the case with the BONCHON chain. They need strict quality control managers.

BONCHON is not cheap so get the quality you pay for at another location like FAIRFAX OR CENTREVILLE ✅

And to top it off, we did a pick up order and the cashier asked for tip when it came to the tip screen. No…You do not demand tip…you tell the customer that ‘it’s going to ask you a question or prompt you and then you can swipe your card.’ Stinginess is not going to make a business successful. Sad because this restaurant is in a beautiful shopping center and could make a lot of money if...

I have NEVER felt more unwelcome at a restaurant. The food was good and our server was nice so we still tipped...but the owner/manager behaved very unexpectedly toward my family and friends.

We left a sporting event nearby on Saturday 10/1/2022 and wanted a quick bite to eat before going home. Instead of allowing our server to take the order the manager stood next to her, aggressively warned us that we should choose quickly because "his kitchen needs to close..." and caused confusion during the order since we didn't know whom to speak to and were interrupted a few times (we repeated one selection twice to ensure it was included but they still forgot to make the dish until mid-meal when we reminded them something was missing).

I was so shocked about the last call on orders that I checked their closing time thinking we had made a mistake in coming so late...but they claim to close at 10pm and we were warned by the staff at 8pm to hurry up!

Why the place would be closing it's kitchen at 8 on a Saturday is a mystery but if they took time to explain the situation (was there an emergency?) we would have understood and been able to relax or choose somewhere else to eat instead.

We were made to feel like the 'problem' was our fault & I will definitely not return to this location for...

Alright, so I used to live in the Fairfax area so I had my share of experiences of BonChon multiple times especially in Annandale and Centreville as well as the one deep in Fairfax. Then I moved to Leesburg and was so excited of the BonChon in Leesburg. Here you'll get your Korean chicken fix... minus the legendary customer service and quality of food. I can't believe how this place is still operating?

After placing our order for a large wings and drum combo, the food came out in decent time (no customers) and tasted somewhat normal. We didn't receive chopsticks or any pickled radishes/coleslaw. We had to ask our non existent waitress for the radishes which was served in a micro styrofoam container and had to go to the bar to pick up chopsticks ourselves. The radishes had a funny taste that was not normal for a BonChon.

Seems like the owner was wandering around and didn't pay attention to whatever was going on. I really hope that this place goes under new ownership or else I fear it'll leave a bad taste in new customers trying Korean Chicken for the first time. Last time and only time I'll ever be here until management...
