We had been regulars here for many years now. Even though the atmosphere was not exactly clean and pristine, we thought the food was pretty fresh. Always had ordered sushi and sashimj from here. I made the mistake of ordering the chicken Yakisoba. Tbe first bite of the rubbery chicken, i recoiled and saw that it had a pink raw middle, it made me realuze that there is a huge salmonella risk. I couldn't bear to have another bite of chicken or anything else from there. Since i was there with my family who were always eating, I decided to order something else. Realizing that the food was coming out way too fast for my liking, I thought the beef would be a safe salmonella-free bet. The manager created a huge scene and was extremely rude. We paid our cheque and left. In order not to make a scene, we took our food and came home and dumped it. This restaurant tales the prize for the worst service ever!! Just the hotrid manager can take down this restaurant single-handedly. Guess she needs help.

I was excited to try this place after shopping nearby and spent $60+ on lunch by myself, including uni sushi and a salmon teriyaki bento box. Within an hour of eating -- and having eaten nothing else that day -- I developed violent diarrhea and stomach pain that lasted for days. I contacted the restaurant multiple times trying to speak to a manager, and kept being told to "call back later." When I finally got through nearly a week later, I was told nothing could be done because I hadn't called sooner (I had), and that the chef claimed their uni is always fresh. I have photos of the sushi, which was visibly slimy -- something that I recently learned is NOT normal for fresh uni, according to food safety standards. The entire experience was disappointing and unsettling. I've reported the incident to the health department so they can investigate and ensure this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Located in a large village shopping center, you will find plenty of parking. If not on the street, in the covered garage. My daughter and I went there fir the first time. We were welcomed at the door with a Japanese traditional loud geeting. The place was very clean. Starting accessible for handicap. Booth or table seating. The restrooms were for single person use. Very clean and tended to. Easy to read menu with a great selection of Japanese cuisine. We chose sushi...and the appearance and fresh scent made for a succulent experience. An order of gyoza and 4 specialty sushi rolls and 2 waters came out to $55. A bit expensive, but the food was worth marking this place on the map to repeat. I share a photo of our dish (please ignore my daughter and her "hole" game. However, if you looked and it was below your waist... self serve on that neck).

(This review is SOLELY based on the spicy tuna poke bowl) I've been advised against eating here since their sushi is overpriced compared to other restaurants in the area. However, since I work nearby, I decided to at least give their spicy tuna poke bowl a try. Unfortunately, it's the worst poke bowl I've ever had. They use mashed spicy tuna rather than larger pieces, so it's very difficult to blend with the rice and whole bowl has a mushy texture. It was so salty that it was ultimately inedible. Hopefully their other menu offerings make up for this plate. To be fair, the staff is friendly, facility is clean, and the food is fresh and eye-pleasing, and delivered quickly. But taste-wise, womp womp :( Comparatively, Wegman's poke bowl is SO MUCH BETTER for the SAME PRICE. They have way more real components (vs. filling most of the bowl with rice and greens), is NOT salty, and has great textural elements to counter the soft fish and rice. I'm writing this review literally within 5min of throwing more than half my lunch out and...

I am a confirmed and unapologetic sushi snob and while Noku serves up a fantastic selection of creative rolls, traditional nigiri and sashimi is what I come here for on a weekly basis. Everything is fresh and everything is good. Jake, the proprietor, wouldn't serve it otherwise.

Led by Tricia, the service at Noku is attentive, warm and friendly. The staff makes a genuine effort to get to know you and will go above and beyond to serve the needs of their loyal customers. If there is something you want that is not on the menu, get to know Jake and he will go the distance to accommodate you. These are good people and have become great friends over time.

When it comes to sushi in the 'burbs, this is as good as it gets (hence the 5 star review). If you live in Loudoun County and you are a sushi aficionado, this is the place to go week-in and week-out. Noku is dependable and consistent and getting better all the time.

Go for lunch, sit at the counter and get to know Jake and Tricia. You'll become a...
