It was like going on a magic carpet ride the moment we stepped in the beautiful Victorian house to the time we left! We were 3 generations of girls: Gamma, Mom, and Addie and we had the best day. It was our first tea party and we were amazed. The owner filled us in on all the menu items, history of the home, and there was the cutest book in the waiting area that the owner said his dad was responsible for. It was called - if you give a man a cookie - and we read the book aloud to the 3 year old and it gave us the best laugh! This book is a must read. The owner was so accommodating to the 3 year old and treated her like royalty. The teas were good , the food was amazing, and then we had dessert! Addie said she wanted chocolate but the owner was out of brownies so he said I can bring her some chocolate cool whip with sprinkles and we said - yes that would be great! The owner goes to get dessert and our 3 year old said it’s like it’s my birthday and we said no it’s no your birthday Addie. The owner was bringing dessert to our table and heard her and sang happy birthday to her and made her feel so special - love !! The other tables all clapped and as I said it was the best day. This is a place to go for the most unique and unexpected experience you will find in Louisiana. I am just sorry that we didn’t get the owners name and if you read this - thank you so much for loving your job and for making...
Read moreIf you are looking for something refreshing and unqiue, this is it! They are only open for lunch hours. Make a reservation.
Location: downtown leesville area. Parking can be limited and difficult since you must park on the road.
Atmosphere: Fresh, inviting, homey. A vintage flare. They also decorate for the season/holiday which also matches their foods. No booths, only tables.
Food: menu changes with the season/holidays. Always fresh and most things are house made (ie soups). I have tried their tomato soup, gumbo, cornbread, chicken salad sandwich, banana ice cream. My favorite was the tomato soup and cornbread. Literally the best I've ever had! Their gumbo was also flavored well and true to the south. Their chicken salad was good but it just needed more moisture. Their ice cream was blue bell but they gave it to me free for my birthday, which was incredibly sweet of them!
Prices: depends on the item but affordable. I'd say about $2.50-$8 per item.
Parties: they host birthdays, baby showers, bridal showers, office meetings and more!
Hours: very limited. Only open 10-2pm (lunch) and I highly recommend making a reservation.
Service: their staff is limited but they are very personable. They want you to have a good time and enjoy...
Read moreWow is what I have to say. My daughter lives there and wanted her grandma and myself to go there for our girls day out. I can't rave enough about this as I was just amazed at everything there. The atmosphere is very inviting, it was decorated for Easter and was whimsical. The gentleman was so welcoming and friendly made you feel right at home. He told us how the tea parlor became and idea his mother had and wow it was just wonderful. The food was amazing. They had a home made tomato soup and grilled cheese that was phenomenal. We even tried cucumber sandwiches with the cust cut off. That was so refreshing. The tea was exceptional, and dessert was to die for. I look forward to returning next time we are in...
