I have never written a review, positive or negative, as I believe that one off things happen and one should not be held to that as their reputation. With that said, I feel compelled due to the horrendous customer service that has been provided by Dippidee and what appears to be their owner.
I placed a call into their shop on Saturday, November 2nd requesting a Elsa cake for my daughters 4 year birthday which happens to be on Sunday, November 10th. The kind person on the phone said they could do this, walked me through my options and we together decided on a cake. She told me I would need to get a price quote, however that couldnt happen until Monday at the earliest...to which I responded as long as the cake does not cost more that $250 you have a green light. With that I provided her with all my information and she wrote up what she said was an invoice and that I can pick the cake up on Saturday. I felt good.
I then received a call from what I believe to be the owner, Carly. What troubles me is a few things. First, Carly brought a disrespectful tone to our conversation. I understand you are a small business owner, but there is still a way to treat a paying customer, especially one willing to blindly spend hundreds of dollars at your shop with confidence in your abilities. Second, Carly told me that the cake was not going to be made because I did not confirm the pricing quote - and she would be willing to do it now (now being November 6th) however she would charge me a $50 rush fee. I told her I feel her employees seem to be confused on your process and it would be helpful for them to explain all this from the start, rather than leave a paying customer with a false pretense that their order has been initiated and a cake will be ready on the agreed upon date.
All in all, I was excited to have found what I thought was a gem of a bakery. I have now quickly realized that would could have been a simple misunderstanding between her employees and a paying customer has turned into a disrespectful owner handling a situation in likely the worst possible manner. It is very unfortunate that Carly felt she needed to handle this the way she did. Perhaps it was a stressful day for Carly today, however I would have hoped a more reasonable and cooperative approach would have been taken to solve this issue. So I wanted a simple custom cake for my big sisters baby shower! This cake was going to be my main focal point and I was so excited after ordering it a week early. The sales associate was friendly and SO helpful and gave me her honest input when I couldn't make up my mind about design and filling. I paid for it (which was WAY less expensive than I was thinking id have to pay) and told her Id see them Saturday evening before closing(with the shower being Sunday morning)
That weekend happened to be the busiest weekend of my year so far, and long story short, 9:30 pm rolled around and I was FINALLY able to check my voicemail. Left on there was a message from the associate at 5:30 (just before closing time) about my cake waiting to be picked up. I had TOTALLY spaced it.
Incredibly upset with myself for forgetting and so bummed about missing out on this beautiful cake would be a complete understatement. My husband threw out the idea that maybe I could send an email with the subject "URGENT" and maybe... just maybe... someone would answer and could maybe help.
With in the Hour the owner, I believe her name was amber (i'm sorry if thats wrong) was calling me and offering to meet me at the closed bakery 40 mins away from where she was! My mouth dropped! To have a business owner go that far above and beyond to help a customer out was so amazing and refreshing to say the least!
We met at Dippidee and she was so sweet and so nice! I wish there was a way to repay her.
Now, with that said, the cake was BEAUTIFUL. Simple and elegant just like I wanted, Was perfect size for the amount of guests, and tasted absolutely DIVINE!!

Read moreThey lost my special order for cupcakes, admitted they lost it and the girl who took my order even told me she remembered placing my order but didn't know what happened to it. This order was for a baby shower. I asked the Mother-to-be to pick up the order on her way to her own shower because she lived nearby the shop. They made her stand around for 30-40 minutes because they didn't know what to do. Finally I asked (via phone because I was setting up the shower) if they could just allow her to pick some cupcakes from the case. The girl behind the counter acted as if she'd never thought of that. No manager available for her or myself to talk to. The Mother-to-be picked out her cupcakes and was able to make it to her own shower an hour late. After the shower, the Mother-to-be gave me the receipt for the EXTRA CHARGE they made HER pay! They didn't have the kind of cupcakes I had PRE ORDERED and PAID FOR, so they let her pick what they happened to have on hand and made her pay extra for them! The total charges were almost 3 times as much as my original order because all they had on hand were larger cupcakes. I was floored! For a week I tried calling a manager and even the owner who was always "unavailable". The one person who would talk to me kept telling me there was nothing they could do.
