Learn moreWe were there today 9/05 around 4:15 and the place had no customers. I placed my order and while my son was ordering changed my mind because I wantet to get a large combo instead. The face of the “manager” when I told her about it told me everything I should expect next. While waiting for my order I couldn’t ignore what I was seeing, other people’s order from the drive-thru that included sandwiches being prepared by the same “manager” without using gloves, yes no gloves. It was until she realized that I was looking at her that she put a glove, yes one glove, on the right hand side -the one side is use to handle the spatula- Not using a glove continue to grab the bread with the left had without a glove, Uhh? 🤔. It was until she was going to get the chicken from my wrap and sandwiches that she finally put a glove on her hand or she was told that I was looking or because she look to see if I was still watching her. That was 2 and counting 3- While we were still waiting for our food a second manager came in to start her shift and they have a little argument about why my food was in a bag instead on the warmer, the answer: because of the biscuit and here and there but whatever the new girl added a biscuit . 4- We decided to eat a little of our food to eat it warm instead or eat it cold at home. We have to clean our table after noticing that not a single table was wiped clean. While seating there a a guy from the drive-try walked in and ask for his fries and what he got from the new manager a long face instead of a big apology. 5- Then we realize that the second biscuit from my son order was missing (he forgot that the biscuit is included in the meal and ordered as part of his 2 sides choice) he told me he didn’t want a second biscuit and I told him he could ask if he could get something else if possible for the missing bisquit. One more time the new girl with an unfriendly face and some wining accepted to give him coleslaw for the missing biscuit. Again not a single I’m sorry for that. 6- Dessert time for me… oh wait… not second pie I ordered and yessss I went to ask for it but you know what else I got? another not happy, unfriendly face without an apology. I’m really disappointed by my experience today and I don’t think I ever write a review for bad experiences here or any other platform but I’m doing today because years back when it was managed by a business owner and not a franchise corporate I worked there and I new the protocol required of preparing and handling food and my boss and managers were strict about it just like most of the good restaurants. If the employees there don’t get along or are frustrated with personal things at home I don’t have to deal with that. Customer service is or should be first in any place and not only at Popeye’s. If I got out of the car is because there is not the first time is missing something from my order so I could check it before leaving. I hope that things there would change for good after seeing so many other people bad experiences. This location was the first one in Utah and employees there should stand for what is expected as Popeye’s in the past and not to what can be interpreted from one of the recent slogans “We don’t Make Sense We make Chicken” because if I’m honest this time doesn’t make sense at all. And now seating here at home ai should stand for whoever got the sandwiches and ask her to throw away those and get new ones using gloves and I...
Read moreI love Popeye's chicken. I think, when it's made correctly, it's the best fast food fried chicken you can get: crispy, juicy, light, and piping hot. Unfortunately, this experience at this Popeye's added to the trend I've been seeing at this store in a negative way. The food was still good, but the service -- certainly a result of incomplete training -- is sorely lacking.
We arrived and ordered inside for dine-in. We waited 25 minutes (I checked my watch and the time stamp on our receipt) for our food. During that time, I watched car after car go pull up to the drive-thru, order, pay, and receive their food. It's clear that these folks are prioritizing the drive-thru. This is further born out by the fact that there were several other customers in the lobby who waited as long or longer than we did for their food. Additional evidence of this is that during our time in the store, not one single employee came out to the dining room and cleaned off tables and chairs. There were several of those.
One gets the impression that the employees here would very much rather that customers go through the drive-thru.
They weren't understaffed at all - they had employees hurrying all over the place and food was being put out in the warmers steadily. But the employees were not moving with any real efficiency or economy of movement and were clearly not worried about getting dine-in customers taken care of. It was disappointing. We won't be returning for several months in the hopes that this service will change through competent training.
The red beans and rice were also not very good, unlike the norm. And I had to go back for the sauce I'd requested as well as a biscuit that they didn't provide which was supposed to be part of the combo.

Read moreI love PopEyes' food. I was introduced to the food in Chicago and was so happy when I moved back to Utah that a couple locations had opened here. This location unfortunately gave my husband and I the worst experience we've ever had at a PopEyes. The workers appeared to be goofing off and chatting while distractedly putting orders together and cooking food. We specifically ordered half spicy and half regular chicken tenders and they gave us two boxes of both flavors mixed. One or two misplaced pieces we'd understand, this wasn't the case here. Moving onto their drink station. They have a very sparse selection of drinks. Their Coke syrup was pretty much gone and only dispensing soad water. On top of that they barely had any lids out. I had to interrupt one of the workers who was supposed to be taking orders from a chat with others behind the chicken and request they put out more lids along with more straws (they were out of those too) and to refill the syrup in their machine. While I was waiting a man came up and asked to speak with the manager, who was kinda hiding in the back of the kitchen area chatting with the others, and explained he had issues with their fries. The manager seemed to blow the man off and not really care about this customer's concerns. Before leaving I took a general look around the restraunt and noticed their garbage cans were literally overflowing with garbage. If it had been during a busy time, or if the staff seemed short handed, I wouldn't be so critical, but this was a complete joke. I'm glad I didn't have to use their bathrooms. It probably would've been a disgusting nightmare. C'mon you guys, this is a PopEyes in a nice area, not a truck...
