This is really about the price of their menu and the atmosphere/vibe. After ordering two Ramen bowls, (one chicken with a soft egg, one chicken dumpling with broccoli), and two lemonades, It came out to $56, (plus a tip).
It was a very typical ramen meal, I'm sure they used authentic ingredients and it was as good as you might expect. However, I am leaving the restaurant this evening knowing that I dramatically overpaid for a bowl of soup, and that I probably won't return.
The atmosphere was okay, The restaurant is darkly painted with some small decorations around, all over pretty lackluster. The music they're playing doesn't suit the mood of a Japanese ramen restaurant, but it would be great for a nightclub. You have to yell in order to talk to your table mates.
Lastly, the service was all right but this restaurant could really use hey dress code for its employees. Not sure if they're trying to be cool and hip, but our waiter was wearing jeans and a casual button down shirt over a T. Compared to the slick tucked in black button-down shirt of the concierge, the waiter didn't give the restaurant a professional feel. At $26 for a bowl of ramen and a glass of lemonade I think it's fair to expect a little more.
All in all though, the ramen once again tasted authentic and was yummy. Unfortunately it was just dramatically overpriced with a...
Read moreThe atmosphere is definitely my favorite part of this restaurant. For cost? Outrageously high but when you’re so nauseous all you can eat is soup- you better believe I’ll pay up. Pictures here don’t do the food presentation justice, it was super pretty. For 3 people all getting ramen and the tuna rice appetizer, it was about $75 The tuna rice was utterly fantastic. The quarters are very close, The bar only seats about 5 people. We shared a table with another small group which doesn’t bother us but the family we were next to did not like that at all. They have neat little sauce dishes on the tables with no decor for littles to knock over (thank goodness.) The lighting is very nice and the art on the walls isn’t overwhelming. It’s cool peeking over the counter into the line kitchen. The chicken ramen was super earthy and the wontons were perfectly cooked. I liked being able to add extra noodles with a side menu for toppings. The toppings were roughly $3 per piece. Extra seaweed is $1/sheet. The chairs are a little low so don’t sit down too fast or you might slam down. The Biria Ramen is a cool twist making the ramen have homey Mexican food feel. The portions are smaller than what you’d typically expect of ramen but still enough to enjoy leftovers...
Read moreWe came on a Saturday about 6pm and our party of four was seated right away. The restaurant is small on the inside and the tables are really close together. We are glad we came when we did because after we got seated, people started coming in and they had a wait.
Our server was very kind and offered great recommendations, given it was our first time. We started with the pork gyoza and it was great. The gyoza sauce definitely complimented it well and added a nice subtle spice.
I ordered the spicy chicken ramen, mild, and added fresh garlic and an egg. I also added some of the gyoza sauce, seasoning sauce, and hot sauce that was provided on the table for more flavor. The ramen also came with two pieces of chicken. The ramen was probably the best I’ve ever had. It was absolutely delicious and so flavorful. I loved the broth and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The egg was a nice, and much needed, addition for flavor and texture. Next time, I would get medium spice as the mild wasn’t even spicy at all, despite being called spicy chicken ramen.
Great experience, great service, and amazing food. Will definitely be back, often! I would highly recommend calling ahead or coming for an early dinner because it was so busy on...
