The first time I tried this it was great. Food was good customer service good. I didnât get asked if I wanted another hot drink but did get asked if my food was ok. The next day (today) went back with my grown daughter cause I really wanted her to try what I liked about this place the day before and I knew they were closing for vacation on Wednesday (tomorrow) but the younger of the two (Iâm assuming the daughter) hollers out the window that they are closed now even though they have customers going in and people sitting outside. Because they are out of potatoes! (We weâre looking to get pancakes) but she didnât give us the chance as we were walking up the side. So we took our business elsewhere. I get wanting to close for vacation but the attitude could have been different or she could have just said we can give you something else besides the potatoes. Since they were obviously still open for business. I normally give a business 3 tries before I write a review but I just think people should know on a good day this place is good. But if they have something going on and their mind is elsewhere your not their number one priority. Still overall...
Read moreGREAT BREAKFAST SPOT! Popped into this diner based off of a few Yelp/Google reviews, and it was so worth it! Delicious meal, piping hot, right off the griddle. Reasonably priced and an authentic small town experience. Few things to know that we learned!
This is a small diner, essentially bar space only! Sit on your coat at your bar stool! The locals dining next to us said it gets crowded on the weekend, so best bet would be during the week, especially if you have more than two people in your party.
As most places right now, prices have increased from the last picture of the menu I saw on reviews. My husband and I each got the two egg breakfast with home fries (w/ onions, highly recommended!) and meat, and our bill was $20. The meal also came with toast! Average price for diners right now, and well worth it!
We didnât get it, but my husband almost immediately regretted not getting âThe Mess.â The locals next to us ordered this dish and it looked AMAZING!
The family that runs this joint was so nice and welcoming, go...

As I walked in two older local men were out front on the bench first good sign. I entered and only one seat was available maybe they have 20 or 25 total. Another customer help me find my seat. I was immediately greated by cook/management /mom. Coffee was pouring in seconds. The menu was one page one side breakfast other side lunch. Two minutes later one of the daughters took my order on a post-it note scrambled eggs home fries bacon. Was asked if I wanted onions in potatoes and white or rye toast. It was the best breakfast I have had in P.A. the 12 years I have lived here. While eating I should add the daughter was hand slicing potatoes next to me so I ask about that she said 800 pounds a week. The check was verbal $6.94 .and large coffee to go was 50 cents I wish I lived closer to this place it...
