I've been meaning to write a review about this McDonald's for a long time now. My family like most families frequent this McDonald's probably way more than we truly should. However, lately I'm just so fed up that most likely I will not be going back, especially when the other fast food options open up that demonstrate across-the-board superior food and customer service such as Chick-fil-A and Panera. Arby's is my current alternative. This afternoon I had a day off and decided to take my toddler for some chicken nuggets. I decided to go inside because generally waiting in the Drive-Thru takes so much more time. I was the only one in line at first and I was waiting and waiting since no one was attending the front. The manager was assisting other team members with the shake machine. One would think the two standing watching him attempt to fix the shake machine would go to the register and take my order. However, unfortunately the employees are not efficient at this restaurant in the least. The manager turned around a couple times and apologized and said someone would be right with me. As I was waiting I was staring at the credit card reader which was covered in God knows what and obviously has never been cleaned ever. I kept thinking oh lord I have to touch that thing. Also, my toddler was approaching her nap time and starting to fuss. I really didn't have a lot of time to spend waiting for someone to even take my order let alone make the food at this point since I was approaching DEFCON 5 with my daughter. Just as I thought they were going to be ready to take my order the shake they had so desperately been trying to make all this time tipped over and Spilled everywhere. I just knew at that point they would clean up the shake versus taking my order. After waiting in line for about 5+ minutes and not even be able to place my order, I decided to leave. I will give the manager credit that as I was putting my daughter in the car he must have realized I had left, he came out and apologized and asked me to come back in and he would make it right. This is the only time I have ever felt that anyone at this McDonald's has ever cared about my experience. That is there only reason I gave it two Stars. He stated they were having problems with the shake machine. I said I understood but there should always be someone at the front to take orders. The problem with this McDonald's are the employees. They appear to not be trained properly and it's painfully obvious they do not care about their job and the service that they provide. This McDonald's is consistently slow they fill orders incorrectly, and on several instances they have actually asked me to tell them tell them exactly what I ordered so they can prepare it for me even though it should be up on the screen that they're looking at. Generally, if I've ever talked to a manager on duty in the past because of a horrible experience, those managers act like they are hardly even listening to me and don't care. The gentleman today I feel as though he did truly care, however he's probably overwhelmed with total incompetence so its a losing battle. To the owner of this McDonald's, unless you make drastic changes, those of us that are your bread and butter will no longer frequent your restaurant. We have other options already and several options that will be coming. Take a cue from Chick-fil-A on how to provide Superior customer service and fresh food. Good employees do exist, you just have to find and hire them. You have to set proper expectations and make it clear to them what their position is and what they are supposed to do. Good luck going forward once your additional competition opens. I truly hope you can change...
Read moreDo I start with the obligatory it takes a lot for fast food to annoy me enough to leave a review? I worked twelve years at a location so I get it. But this one is ba da ba ba BAD. Every. Single. Time.
My trip before last: Ordered a quarter pounder, kids meal and a cone. Asked to park like always. When the order was brought out (after waiting and someone asking what my order was) I received the kids meal, Burger and no cone. I didn't even bring it up. It happens every time a cone is involved. This was the third time. I accept at that point I was living in a fantasy land, and should not have gone to McDonaland. I get home and the QP is half raw and the box dripping wet. My face was grimace.
Time before that, we go to eat breakfast and the HVAC is out. Funny story... It's been out... Because this is the second time for that. Way to abuse your crew mates franchise operator.
Time before that, they left an entire line sitting in the drive thru waiting for twenty minutes while they decided to just be closed.
Yesterday, I order on the app, arrive and the drive thru is literally so backed up (only one lane was open) that is had now wrapped the building and clogged people leaving the line. Because of the way people had entered the line, larger trucks exciting the DT couldn't leave, and dine in customers couldn't leave. People got ticked at one another and left by the dozens. Probably because the manager and two others are having a grand old time -clowning around - in the parking lot. Agree waiting 15 minutes (time stamp by the app checkin) I get to the speaker, confirm my order, and drive forward. I get to the window where I'm told they actually are out of my order but they left the drink on the ticket for me....I told them to cancel it and left. I get home and they charged me for the full meal. Way to play hamburgler McDonald's.
I have zero expectations to hear back from the location. Zero expectations anything will change. The franchisee owns all of them around here. For some reason this location is the no ish given child..
I could count on two hands the ice cream cones not received, the raw burgers, and now I can add false charges to the mix among hours wasted in line because I do...
Read moreThese pics are indicative of what you should expect (as of recently) from local (Leland and Wilmington) fast food restaurants with the exception of Chick-Filet and Arby's. Those are the only chains that have got our order correct 100% of the time. McDonalds (locally owned by the McAnderson corporation I believe) CONSTANTLY gets our order incorrect and all we are doing is requesting LESS on our sandwiches. How difficult is it just to only put a slice of cheese on top of the burger or chicken? What about a quarter pounder burger with just ketchup and onions? Apparantly that translates into Add Cheese and pickle because it happens ALL THE TIME. Even when we explicitly request a HAMBURGER, NO CHEESE, they still get it wrong. I would say that they get it wrong 3 out of every 5 times and I have become so tolerant of this without realizing it... NO MORE. A few years ago my ex-wife ordered a vanilla shake and they gave her biscuit mix which looks like vanilla shake mix. Needless to say she got sick and missed work and yes, she sued and won. I just don't want anyone to think it influenced me from not giving them the opportunity to prove their issues were just a couple of isolated events. I want to state that more often than not the people working the drive thru are nice and exhibit good customer service so this seems to be a kitchen issue. If the ticket reads a chicken sandwich with just cheese and they grab the box and put it in the bag thinking that the order is correct, it's obviously not their fault, but they are the ones dealing with the public and receive the brunt of the complaints. Make sure you CHECK YOUR ORDER before you...
