Food was good. The variety of salsas was excellent, but the chips were stale.
TLDR: So our experience summed up was, we were the only ones in a silent, brightly lit restaurant with an unfriendly server who was completely preoccupied with something other than us, who brought us some food.
The bulk of this review is based on the "frumpy faced" server who was essentially, "non existent", other than bringing the food. There was no follow-up throughout the whole meal, so our drinks were not replenished once. It was hard to get her attention, short of walking up to the counter because she was on her phone most of the time. Eventually, she came back about 10mins when we were done eating, with her same frowns face and zero conversation.
It's worth mentioning we were the ONLY ones in the restaurant too. Maybe she was having a bad day, idk. But we really felt like we were impeding.
As for atmosphere, nothing going on. Pretty much same decore, (aside from some pix on wall) as previous restaurant, with no backround music.
Positives, food and salsa bar was good.
To me: when people dine out, there's a certain "expectation level" on the overall experience and for a new restaurant, you would think they would be almost "over the top" trying to create that experience. At the VERY least check on your customers mid meal!
Hopefully they do good and this server was just having a bad day. If I go back and it's better, I...
Read moreThis was our first visit to this restaurant and will be our LAST. It was unequivocally the worst burrito I have ever eaten. The meat was dry and tasteless and the tortilla was burnt on both sides. As I understand it was later in the day (2 hrs before closing)the meat certainly was not freshly cooked and had no juice to any bit of it. Nothing on the plate, nothing on my hands and nothing in the burrito. The service at best was average. We were the only people there and it still took a bit to get our food. It certainly wasn’t that fresh so I am not sure what the delay was. I assume the cook and his significant other were the owners who were present in the dining area sitting at a table. No greetings, no checking in to see how the dinner was, no thank you, no wave or no good-bye. I still tipped 20% to the waitress because the quality of the food is not her fault and she is at least out there working. As I normally speak to the manager about such circumstances, but quite honestly, no one seemed to care that we were even patronizing their establishment or to receive feedback. Why waste my breath. As I am a big supporter of buying local, I just can’t get behind this one. Extremely...
Read moreStopped in during Happy Hour. Margs were delicious but a little light (very sweet and a little watered down). Had a steak taco and Al Pastor taco. The steak taco was good. I would rate a 7.8. But the Al Pastor taco was honestly the worst taco I’ve ever had in my life. I could barely chew the pork as it was rock hard. A piece fell off of my taco and sounded like a tooth hitting the plate. It hurts me to say this but I probably wouldn’t ever come here again. The service was fine and the salsa bar is the best part but not enough to bring me back. I can’t get over the fact that they served scrap meat as a pork taco. I hope they do better and I get to experience it because it seems like a very nice place, I just most likely came at a bad time. I don’t want deter anyone from coming here unless others have a similar experience. I just have to share what it was...
